Failed the MOT

Yep, it failed. I need advice on the issue it failed on if anyone is technically minded.

Ummm....

How do I fill up the windscreen washer bottle?

Actually, on a serious note, it did get an advisory that the rear nearside wheelbearing could do with being changed. Anyone got any hints where to get one and is it a simple job to change?

Re: Failed the MOT

Its an easy job (40 mins) and you can find a guide by Alan in the guides area of Fiat Forum.

You need to make sure you get the ABS rear bearing if your B has ABS.

Daft question (as I think I know the answer) but do you have ABS? If so I have a bearing in the garage - bought it as an ABS bearing but arrived as a non-ABS one, never been able to get back in touch with the seller!

Re: Failed the MOT

I know your in pain Lee but that doesn't make sense?

In other words you thought you bought an ABS wheel bearing but it was a non ABS one when it arrived so you have a spare NON ABS bearing.......yes?

Re: Failed the MOT

Cheers Doc. Will take a look for Alan's guide.

Mine has ABS LRB - but like Alan, I think you're saying you have a non ABS one? If it is an ABS one, then if you want to sell? Take it there's no difference between the nearside and offside bearings?

Re: Failed the MOT

Seems a bit dear?

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/fiat-barchetta...2em118Q2el1247

Seems to be the correct name expensive unless a pair, But I would always do them in pairs anyway...

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/2x-Radlager-Ra...QQcmdZViewItem

There you go cheaper and def a pair..........

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/2x-Radnabe-RAD...QQcmdZViewItem

Also searched or Punto HGT etc but they are no cheaper and about £38 in this country for 1

Re: Failed the MOT

The nearside ones usually go first. Something to do with our obsession with roundabouts in this country

Pretty much as Ricky says, but it's also a moving part and all moving parts that are symetrical should be replaced at the same time to make sure the best ballance is always attained. Same for brake pads, calipers, shocks, tie rods, steering arms, etc etc.
