There is a cat (black and scary with green eyes) that hangs around my flat.

It has decided a lovely place to relax overnight is the roof of my B!

How do I get rid of it? Humanely preferably, although I am open to suggestions.

The new roof gets fitted on Saturday... don't want it to be tarnished by this feline intruder...

It will soon start sprayin the roof if its a Tom. V smelly....

Liquid cat repellant or a .22 air rifle....

DO take care with the latter as a smelly roof is better than a new roof with .22 holes in...

If said cat was to urinate on the hood, bar the smell, would there be damage to the hood?

Also, where can you get cat repellent? Would I spray it on the hood?

Not sure mate I know that female dogs have much stronger wee than males that contains amonia, so not sure if cats would be the same.

Best call the cat humane society, I'm sure they would give propper advise to prevent a drive by shooting.

I have a cat that poos in my flower bed and at the moment I'm trying water. I've got it twice so far with my watering can and it wasn't happy! I'm thinking of getting one of those blaster water guns so I can get it from the window. Worth a try if you park close enough to get a clear shot!

an dusting/sprinkling of curry/chili powder should work :D

I own a cat who likes to do the same thing, but she doesn't pee there. In fact it's pretty unlikely that a cat would pee there as they tend to like to pee against things (males that is).

Cat pee does stink of ammonia, male cats pee more so.....

I've always said to my neighbours that they are free to spray my cat with water if they don't want her around. They tend to learn quite quickly. I'm told it's best to try and squirt them without them seeing you so they associate the bad experience with the place and not your presence.

My current cat repellent is a Rottweiler named Outch! There is a nasty side effect that having a dog charge over your car chasing a cat :)

Cats regularly pee in Televisions, VCR / DVD machines etc... ask a TV Engineer.

These bits of kit are warm, so may a soft-top on a car be... it WILL happen, its a claim on the space in the case of a Tom... a territory thing!

I think you mean they pee against TVs etc :)

Yes, it is a territory thing for a Tom. The point I was trying to make is that a Tom may mark territory against your wheels, but is unlikely to pee on the roof as he can't easily pee against it, if you see what I mean!

What I'm more worried about are the claws. The cats been lying on a warm roof, up he/she gets, nice stretch with claws in the roof........

I have to say mine's never done that, don't know why as she does it elsewhere.

I seem to recall being told cats dont like orange peel. So, peel a couple of oranges and lay them on the roof - preferably not directly onto the fabric - and it may solve the problem. Alternatively, go to the Pets Forum (my other half goes on there a lot) and ask the question there. You may get a more sensible answer!

I had one that got into my garage and peed and poo'd in the Caterham. - 3 years later, lots of shampooing of seats etc and the smell still hadn't gone:bang:

I would use either a 12 bore or a nuclear missile(y)

You could always try a sprinkling of pepper... have heard it keeps them away and it shouldnt damage the hood! or I could lend you my little furbag. A 9kg street cat that adopted me 10 years ago. Nasty as hell but there's no cat in the neighbourhood that comes anywhere near him !!

But the bad side is he also likes to sleep on the B's roof. it's not collapsed yet... he's never peed on it but tends to leave the odd 1 or 2,000 white hairs behind

I have a 'cat on the roof' problem, it has never pee'd on the roof but has stretched its claws a few times and left pinches in the fabric.

Initially I tried a car cover but gave up on using that as it was a pain in the ass to put on and take off daily and left marks on the paint! To be honest I have not found an effective way of keeping the cats off, the only thing that did seem to work for a short while was to 'ring' the car with diluted Jayes fluid, cats hate the smell and did not go near the car for a while.........
