Both, one is for vapour the other is for heavy deposits - you want to collect both types!

Take a look at the Doc's project thread, I think he may have tip's n hint's on how to fit one!

Re: F4usT - Silver B

i will try to remove this cover under bonnet and try to refit it tighter again...
but, now i have other problem on headlights... on headlights are some fine transparent film (they are varnishes?) and it starts to going down, it looks ugly... i found some tutorials how to polish them, but i am scared not to make it worse than is now.

hers is url, but just watch pictures because of language.
http://www.cice.com.hr/forum/showthr...990#post232990

now i noticed some watter on right back brake light.... is it possible to open this lights, they are really tight fitted... i read that some put them to oven 200°c for about 4-5 minutes, so they can open it...

Re: F4usT - Silver B

The cover is a bit of a pain in the ass to do, it is only suspended around the edges so over time sags in the middle. The only thing I can think of doing it threading some fine wire through it or replacing it with a heatproof dynamat type material.

As for the front lights I don't think that anyone has successfully managed to remove the film polish the plastic yet. I know a guy who tried it with a Toyota Supra and made a hash of it and eventually had to buy two new lights. If the film is looking really bad then try removing it with a hairdryer and using some hood polish on the plastic surface but do not use anything abrasive or you will be in the market for a new set of lights!

Back ones are a pain on all of the b's, there is a seal around the back of the bul unit that it not too great at doing its job and lets water in. I would not go near an oven with plastic lights and would not dream of having them apart. I would suggest some absorbent cloth poked through the hole with a screwdriver to get the worst of it out and then try drying the rest with a hairdryer...........

HTH

Re: F4usT - Silver B

Meguiars PlastX and elbow grease should sort out the headlights, be patient and tape off the paint first

Rears.. a pain yes,
take m out and dry m out (hairdryer might help) and when remounting them apply lots of KY around them,
or some of of that transparant "silicon kit seal" which is used in the bathroom and kitchens and such. DO check and choose one that does not "eat" metal though.

HTH

To resolve the sagging cover I have used contact adhesive. The nice smelly stuff not the water based type. So far its worked, looks a lot better.

Re: F4usT - Silver B

The famous spot. !

I have one too. Its caused by rushing to put the cover back on without giving time for the paint to cure.

Give the rocker cover another going over with paint. but leave it a few days to harden.

Put it back and should not happen again.

With regards to the lights and their film covering. a good blast with a hot jet wash will remove this.

As i found out when the local car wash sprayed the lights once.

It wont harm them and a good polish using plastic polish as the like of meguirs. plastx will bring them up like before.

Re: F4usT - Silver B

i will try this with hot wash to remove this film... this film have some function, it absorbs and protect lights from angry bugs and from little flying s(o)tones. so maybe is good to put it back... somehow...

on some places it looks that film is removed but glue is still on, and it looks misty and foggy...
