Had a service + headlight and indicator fitted for just under £160. Couldn't remove allen bolt from the engine cover as its started rounding off and is very tight, so they are going to weld a bolt on to get a decent grip on it and then replace the old allen bolts with new ones.

Everytime something is completed, I can think of more to do but its looking good for a 95.

Certainly is mate, puts my 95 to shame! I took it to one of those hand carwash places yesterday to get it cleaned up - now all the dents and scratches are so much easier to see!!

Yours is looking good now, especially considering the accident it was in recently (y)

Next up is the engine cover. As soon as I can get the allen bolt removed. I will also paint the battery tray. Took it down to my dads place in Torquay on Sunday. He may still get one of his own. Got a few nice pics after a quick clean. The more you do, the more imperfections you notice.

let soak in hot water with a liberal measure of Fairy Liquid... works amazingly well
Rub down well with kitchen sponge/pad

And if you're lazy, use the dishwasher :)

note: i can not be held responsible for any changes in your household configuration if your partner/parents/houseshares/etc finds out about that :)

I have documented my engine cover painting done last night.

1. Remove cover from B after struggling with certain bolts.
2. Clean cover with degreaser, hot water/Fairy and wire wool.
3. Spray with heat resistant paint.
4. Replace cover and admire engine bay.

I want to re-paint the battery tray next. When I take the battery out and disconnect it, will there be anything to watch out for or is it just the clock and stereo that will need reseting? Sounds like a silly question but it doesn't do anything to the alarm or anything does it?
