2 sunny today so worked on the b

so first thing we did fit the HLD kit very nice only took 2 hrs but hit a problem when we noticed front bumper was very loose so off it can to find the bracket was snapped and had been for some time by the look of it. so repaired that, with some metal brackets and a plastic welder.that was longer than the lights to do.but very pleased with lights not very good photos but i was dark out there will get a good one when i go for a night drive next.

then today we found a kit as a stop gap for central locking got one of these 4 hrs to fit due to my lock so stiff had to free it up to work with this kit.here it is http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Universal-Remo...742.m153.l1262
so we are still on the look for all the bits for original central locking i have a relay thanks desert rat so if anyone know of any let me know.

have some pics to not bad kit for the money no more keys great to get in

Sounds like a good days work and am pleased that your happy with the HID mod - very worrying to hear that Koni are discontinuing shocks for the b, can you confirm if Koni have stopped manufacture or if its just the supplier no longer stocking them??

Re: 2 sunny today so worked on the b

you can still buy shocks but not kit which includes spring. as the springs they supplies are not made by koni so they are no long selling them. so you will have to get your own spring from somewhere

Re: 2 sunny today so worked on the b

Actually that is not a bad thing, often the kits use cheap springs to keep the cost down, Eibach's, H & R or similar plus Koni's are a good combination!

Sorry, did not mean that the kit that you bought has sub-standard springs just that a lot of the kits use cheaper springs to keep the cost down. Do you know what springs are in the kit that you have ordered?

The cost seems about right, I have seen them from £400-£800-ish depending on the make of shocks and springs
