barchetta meet at Italian day in Stone Staffs 18th May 2008

Hi all,

I mentioned the event outlined below on another thread and there was some interest in getting some barchettas along there.

Let me know if you're interested in going and I'll ensure that the organisers put aside sufficient spaces for all the barchettas to get together.

We would like to invite you and your club to our Italian Day in Stone.

We cannot promise to bring out Mediterranean sunshine, but for the first time residents and visitors to Stone will be able to experience the sights, sounds and aromas of Italy

Stone’s Italian day will feature an Italian Market, Italian Cars, Italian Music, Italian cooking demonstrations and visitors from their Italian Twin Town Bagnacavallo. The colourful stalls will be overflowing with fresh produce including breads and pastries, coffee, ice cream, cheeses, olives, fresh pasta, cold meats, dry fruits, spices and nuts. There will even be jewels made of lava stone and natural hand-made soaps

Motor enthusiasts from across the region and beyond are in for a special treat, confirmed so far are ferraris, lamborghinis, maseratis, fiats, Alfa Romeo, Lancia, Ducati, Motoguzzi.
The free, one-day Italian spectacular - located in the market town of Stone - looks set to attract the crowds.

Yup, but this time I think I may keep the speed down and avoid too many lane changes..............

What happened there? I only partly overheard the conversation...

Ah, KC, ROUGE and myself took part in a little enthusiastic driving on the way up and attracted the attention of the BiB ROUGE saw him first and slowed down, then I saw him and slowed down but KC did not see him until he was on his bumper! He pulled KC over, had a quiet chat about speed limits and driving etiquette and let him get on his way with a message for ROUGE and I!!

Definitely fancy this, but am only back from hols the day before and will have my son that day, so the only answer is for ISTTR so get his own B by then, so we can all come!!

I wouldn't recommend the pretend Italian restaurant on the main road by the canal. You have been warned.

I am still interested but not sure if I can swing this one, it would be the 5th car meeting in 5 weeks............

Also, having major issues with my back again after the drive to Bristol (but am still planning on Brooklands this weekend)....

Sorry to hear the back is still bad.
I think we will do this one, its not too far from us and they have italian food stalls so Mike will definitly be up for it! Why don't you bring her indoors??

You know what, that is a damn good idea! I will work on that one tonight!!

I'll be going (almost definitely, anyway).

I'll be travelling through Belper so a convoy (of two) is a possibilty.

Was hoping to, but my son has just announced he has a trampolining competition that day - bugger!!! Will be thinking of you while I'm watching all the other kids and biting my nails waiting for his turn. I'll be far more nervous than he is!!!

Have a pizza or a slug of Frascati for me . . . . and don't forget to take your Barchetta Forum cards!!!
