Tuning HELP Needed - Green filter induction kits.....

Once a new induction kit has been fitted, does the car need to be tuned to get the maximum performance or does it improove just by the install. ?

The figures quoted were tested by several rolling roads as before and after without re-mapping and no other modifications. Obviously it does help to re-map to get even more out of the car. The induction does not replace the re-map. But I would re-map the ECU as the final measure because otherwise you will be wasting a lot of money.

Sorry oldschool but I think you are missing out on sales if you dont sell the hose on its own. I would love one of your hoses for my CDA filter but as you said you dont sell them without a filter, so I will have one made.

As for sucking up water, well as my Barchetta never comes out of the garage when its wet, this is not a problem.

I dont want to stop usning my CDA filter as I am real happy with it but the OEM rubber hoses are slowing down the airflow.

You have a great product, and I have the cash. (y)

what happens if you already out and it starts to rain bad? :(

I GIVE UP

With the amount of time I have spent cleaning and polishing the underside of the car (sad I know) my B would never come out on a crap wet day and even if it did rain, I would stop.

Given up on this GSR pipe and getting my intake made for me next week. I will give you this, the GSR kit looks great and the airflow should be nice and free flowing.

Its been over a year now and the car has not seen rain, granted it has not been out much because of all the great summer weather we are having :bang:

I've got the CDA too. I think the CDA (or equivalent) is a good product and I'm not convinced you can get much better, what I mean is that it provides as much air as the Barchetta can process. On the other hand it's the connecting intake hoses, placement and picking up cold air that can make or break it.

I'm still trying to get hold of a pipe that runs from the mass air sensor housing to the CDA as the crinkly aluminium thing I use at the moment is not so nice!

I also want to get hold of some of that insulation tape I notice Doc has used to keep the heat down.

at the end of the day the pipe and its R&D time is the bulk cost of the GSR kit.in real terms its not going to reduce the costs by much without a filter anyway im afraid.

we get the same arguemtns in the cento section as here and the cento one is half the price!! but all who have used a GSR seem happy with them

On the advice of the Doc I have just wrapped my manifold and top rad hose with exhaust wrap tape. It makes a significant difference to the heat given off by the manifold and subsequently the ambient heat under the bonnet.

Mind you it smoked like a trooper for the first 1/2 hour!

I dont think a bird in your filter is the norm m8 and not really a filter design fault. If anything you could say it did a great job of keeping your engine going and keeping all that crap out.

The intake hose that comes with the CDA kit is nothing special as its a flex one size fits all kind of thing but I was happy with the design amd quality of the filter unit. The 1600CC up CDA that I have is a little large for the Barchetta engine bay but will be fine when used with a turbo.
