I sent a message to the seller asking for much more info on the state of the car...
Will share with the Forum!

Seller response

The car has had lots spent on it. The engine and gearbox were replaced and overhauled by the show. Not sure about welding but the car is not rusty. It was a one owner car before wheeler dealers bought it but now has three after changing v5 into people names.

The car won't need anything as done less than few hundred miles since last year's mot.

Mot expired now but depending on what you might offer I might be able to include this.

So £2k and no MOT...
Going to check the history and reply to seller with £1k offer

The engine and gearbox weren't overhauled. They broke them and replaced them - how do you break a Panda engine? I asked but they wouldn't say - I suggested it must have involved no oil or filling it with water - I had a mumbled something like that....

The replacement gearbox didn't work, so it had a third. They plumbed the 3rd in wrong and it was almost impossible to use - they hadn't noticed, but changed it when I told them - anyone who knows my mechanical ability(!) will realise how obvious their error must have been......

According to the programme they just adjusted the gear linkages. ;)

I have talked to the seller a bit, not massively helpful and wants a lot more than it's advertised for!

He paid the previous asking price for it (£3.5k) and expects that back plus the carriage he had to pay getting it shipped for Knaresborough to Aberdeen.

Not willing to put an MOT on it until a price is agreed, and recons the gearbox is sweet - not how it was when I drove it.

Well not worth more than £1k in my opinion..
Let's see if it sell
