Panda (Classic) Wheeler Dealers Panda

Panda (Classic) Wheeler Dealers Panda

Really I thought that was a sales pitch for the car business
It was pretty tatty inside too
Well will the new owner pop up on the forum

Well Ed China is leaving Wheeler Dealers to be replaced by Ant Anstead (off for the love of cars), interested to hear what people make of that, pity it's not Mike Brewer going, then the mechanics could actually do a proper job without some idiot talking crap to sell it on!
Be interested to see where this takes the program, maybe they could buy their Panda back and have another crack at it (y).

My eBay message...

"Good afternoon.

I was outbid on this car by the "Wheeler Dealer" group before it was ruined.

Fully restored a good standard Panda 4x4 is well worth between £2,000 to £3,500 (more if it were a Sisley or SR) but in it's current state and even with a new MOT the most I would offer is £800

The reason being I would now have to undo all the mess and find the parts that were haphazardly thrown away so I can restore the car properly.

All the best and good luck with the sale LK"

...I'll let you know if I get a reply. ;)

I got a...

"Lol"

...I'm sure if he realises how realistic my offer was.

I'm sure the zero feedback profile that bid it up last time will reappear. As fraudulent as some of the other cars that have been sold as "fully restored" on the show.

Second reply...

"It should be obvious it's a one off car and we are looking for a fan of the show

Also the car has an invite to the classic car show at the necc

Best of luck"

Hmmmm...

I appreciate that without the provenance of the show it would be worth what I offered. My offer was based purely around the face value of the car itself as a restoration rescue project. If I were to compare it to Panda 4x4's out there that have been modified to a high standard I would have offered much less.

I saw this yesterday, to be honest it seems the show has probably run its course, it was originally a bit of a gorilla motor show showing someone how to buy a rough car and make a few quid tarting it up with some polish and a spray can. Now it's all very expensive cars and trying to do what normal people wouldn't.

I suspect Ed has made a good decision seems the new producers want to change the format quite a bit and ditch all his how to style bits which for most people was what made it interesting, they certainly didn't watch it for mike

Make of this what you will, but i see a lot of bump bidding. The seller is failing to shift his/her garden furniture, and the bid history shows the same bidder r***l with 5 feedback, and 5***5 with 319 feedback. I suspect the bidders are known to the seller and bumping the bids up for them.

Garden furniture bid list: http://www.ebay.co.uk/bfl/viewbids/162401770773?item=162401770773&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2565

Current active panda http://www.ebay.co.uk/bfl/viewbids/162446424348?item=162446424348&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2565

And on the one won 2 days earlier and now appears to be relisted 2 days later..... http://www.ebay.co.uk/bfl/viewbids/162443680590?item=162443680590&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2565

R***L
and 5***5 appear in all three listings

This is why most auction cars are a waste of time. Seller's friend bumping up bids then relisting due to timewasters. I tend to offer what i think its worth but that offer is for 24 hours only and if offer not accepted then offer less when they come back after a no sale.

Not to mention the car was allegedly sold (to an extra who also appeared in the Alan Partridge film) in the show and has been "sold" three times on eBay since then but it's still registered to the production company.

I wonder if it has ever been sold at all or have the several owners since the show failed to fulfill the Vehicle Licensing and Registration Act.

I wonder if they'll come back to me and take my £800? That would be hilarious. :D

Hey you never know in all fairness :)

Maybe it never sold officially on the show, perhaps the sale fell through and the production company were stuck with it. Then this chap on ebay buys it thinking it is an investment, and registers it as a dealer transfer waiting for the new user to fill in the V5.

Contacted the seller and they want no less than 2.3 outside of the auction, will take 2.0 if it goes for that on the auction. They said that they will keep it in their garage otherwise. Still don't completely understand the V5 situation, when I asked they said that they didn't change it because it isn't proof of ownership...

Whose name is the v5 in then? Ed or Mike?

Do they have the bill of sale from them?

I reckon a lot of their cars aren't sold and just get used by the production company until the mot's run out.

I was also bidding on the car and wish I'd won it, it's ruined now.
