I've been offered a low mileage one owner immaculate bodied Uno 60S with a knackered engine for very cheap. Should be lighter and even more of a sleeper than the Tipo.

Thats great, although I`m reluctant to mod Uno`s these days as they are so rare.
3 or 5 door? What year? How knackered is the engine? (timing belt failure doesnt kill them!).

The 1116 is the 128 based unit not the non-interference 1108 FIRE.
From what was said over the phone the car hadn't moved for a while, they started it and it clattered to an abrupt end dumping oil everywhere. My guess is big end failure due to a crap infested oil pump.

Oh, that old boat anchor! I`d be tempted to put a FIRE lump in personally (as I have a complete 1108cc engine & box spare), or get a 1500 lump from an Strada/Regata/X1/9 .. I wouldnt do anything irreversible though

If it were a FIRE Uno I have FranknFiat in my shed from project Peterborough.
