A 'bit' more refined. But really very similar. I have a pet theory that 3rd gears synchro lasts longer

I can definitely vouch for that, outlived first & second gear on mine. To drive, bit more sluggish low down due to extra weight, but better at motorway speeds due to the aerodynamics (i.e. they have some!) Handling pretty similar and a fair bit more refined. Less mechanical noise mostly, my first impression of the Panda a couple of months after I got rid of the Y10 was it felt a bit agricultural by comparison.

Wind noise and resistance must be less too with that curved screen and cut off back end?

My abiding memory is more that by some quirk of the aerodynamics the rear screen was next to useless most of the time as any dust or spray seemed to be funnelled directly onto it by the airflow over the car.

My firstcar-SD1 had an equally useless rear screen, as did the landrovers learnt to drive in - talk about agricultural!

Hmmm I wonder if a spoiler would help...
VmanC get well soon, or will the Trans be wheelchair friendly enough to have PandaMo ferry you about?

If anyone wins the right hand drive one (I'm the winning bidder at the moment) I have a white Panda Fizz the same age-ish if you'd like to do a full comparison and road test for the forum and maybe get PPC involved. It'll be a fun day out. :)
