It's probably because Pandas are always stored in garages with the nearside next to damp walls, in my experience....

more likely that "the Udders" pull out of junctions..mangling all their drivers ( our passenger) doors, that's why FIAT have low stocks.

always planned a trip to a French scrappy to get a decent "french" passengers seat to replace our knackered "drivers" one

Just brought the last one - got there when the going was good this time @Palio @homeward :D

Was OS but at that price........

And the white doors that started off at I think £125 each "and we all know how much these are worth" guy has been undercut again :ROFLMAO: love it :) he has reduced his price, but not to these levels yet :)

The problem is that there isn't a ready supply... -- although I'd like to know how many Mr Partsworld has in his basement... -- so he may well get what he wants, in the end.... :(

Btw I am sure that guy is a decent chap, but he had advertised a panda on here, and the doors at the same time, and had put on the advert "we all know what these are worth". Now there is nothing wrong with trying to get the best price for what you are selling, but there is a manner in which to do it. Also, it just really grates on me when someone trys to sell panda related stuff for (what I consider, no scottish jokes please!!) pretty expensive prices. It goes against the spirit of the panda for me. Its a reliable economical car, that should be relatively cheap to run and repair, and extortion is just not on.

Having said that the rarity of some items and models of panda does tend to drive the market for these things up, and thats not necessarily a problem, but as I said, there is a manner in which to do these things.

I think the partsworld chap has it right, those doors seem fairly priced, perhaps even cheaply priced considering they are NOS!!! And lets face it, he could have charged more for the novelty (and sheer coolness) of having brand new old stock doors!

rantish type thing over

Ask the ebay seller to see if he has anymore?

They are trying to sort through the various part numbers Fiat have given them. Fiat are clearing out their warehouse & Partsworld are buying what they know they can sell & reordering where possible. The chap I spoke to said it was a major task trying to make sense of what Fiat list - sounded like they just had 1000's of part numbers! Why doesn't that surprise me?

We are just going through that phase where everyone wants Panda parts just as supplies dry up. It's actually pretty good going that Fiat still have new panels for a car so old.

You won't like this prediction, but I'm going to say it anyway:

Prices of parts will go up for a few years as people try to fix them and supplies of nos parts dwindle.

After a few years the rest of the remaining Panda's will be decimated. I don't like it either but in 5 years most will have gone!

The following 5 years will then see prices level out as parts go more in line with supply of Panda's.

Another 5 years on and parts will be no big problem & getting cheaper - so few Panda's will be left that anyone looking for parts will have little competition.

I know this sounds unlikely, but it happened exactly like that for the 127. For the last 4-5 years I can take my pick of parts pretty much!

Is this good or bad? Bad mainly, but the really nice Panda's will all live on in a parts Utopia! (y)

I for one will buy a pair of doors when they become available along with any other genuine body panels that are available and general bits and pieces that will undoubtedly become more difficult to source in years to come.
I think that the cars and parts will outstrip inflation and interest rates in terms of price increases as the rarity increases.
I think the true spirit of panda togetherness is letting these parts go if someone is found to be in desperate need of them and you are holding on "just in case".

Won't be buying anything until I move now anyway - unless someone has a Ducato motor home they are selling very cheap :p ?

Yep parts world have lots of stuff just don't have the time to list it all on ebay/website, if you are desperate for something give them a ring.

I agree with your prediction, as you say, its not all good news :( but there are some advantages to the upcoming situation I suppose :)

I couldnt agree more, we are fortunate that we have such a great community here, you certainly couldnt say that about all classic car ownerships!
