Re: T-Reg (2003) LHD Panda

Its actually a 1999 Built Panda going by the reg. 2003 was when it was brought into the country.

Is only a low spec beast though

Ashame it hasn't electric windows.

I'm still not 100% sure that they deinatly came with airbags overseas. I've always just thought it was design of the wheel.

Perhaps some of our oversea's members could confirm?

Yeah, that would be good. So perhapos it just a big squidgy thing to hit your head on?

Does seem a bloody ugly design if it has no purpose at all!

It is a very ugly design anyway! lol Considering how these cars fold in an accident, I'm guessing it wouldn't take much for the airbag (if it has one) to fire :P

But Airbag deployment isn't based on vehicle deformation in an accident, is to do with the rate and angle of deceleration

Yep, I think it is, still basically the same engine that was used in Mk1s but with injection and cat.

It is exactly the same as Cinq / Seicento 899 implementations. FIAT would never make it different if they were being made at the same time. That's not the FIAT way! There are quite a few small differences between the 903 and 899cc engines in reality, despite being fundamentally the same engine. Stuff got blanked off or omitted on the later 899 castings. Some head gaskets are not interchangeable AFAIK.

I had this wheel in 4x4 when I bought her, it was without airbag. But I couldn't see a temp gauge, so I throw it away and mounted old two-spoke wheel
I'm 99% sure Pandas didn't have airbags till the end.
