You shouldn't be too surprised as looks like we're heading into a recession big time and your selling a car that's least desirable tax wise too.

Only suggestions I'd make is lay off all the money you've already spent as this may give the wrong impression to potential buyers and I don't think I'd mention the mods either (let them find out when they view and it might clinch the sale) .

Just concentrate on what's really nice about the car

Well i dont quite understand the point of spending all this money on mods and as you say having the car for not very long it's no wonder you will lose money. Why not just keep it and enjoy the fruits of your labour. And as for this comment about this country is s**t well what a load of s**t.

Bad choice of car and the wrong time to sell i think.

Apart from it not being the most helpful post, I can't agree less with you on the car being a bad choice. The car is absolutely brilliant and I love mine. If you can find a better combination of price, performance and perks... then I'll eat the leather seats out of mine

Given our government's ideas on what makes a good green policy (retrospective road taxing anyone?) , there's never going to be a good time to sell the Abarth and it's probably not going to get any better. The government has screwed petrol prices and the second hand car market sideways and you've got to wonder what else could possibly go wrong for the citizens of this once great country...

Hope you like plenty of ketchup with your leather

Hmmmmmm - mjet 150 Stilo Sporting (maybe) any good condition UK spec 16v or Evo Lancia Integrale - the list could go on for a while

If you're not too fussy about the cars age there are plenty of cars out there which offer similar (or better) performance/perks and for a similar price. However, the Stilo is a good choice secondhand and whilst I wouldn't have a "sillyspeed" myself the 5 pot engine matched to a manual box is tempting (except for the mpgs )

It's already been posted that now is not the time to be trying to sell an Abarth, and unfortunately for shaun86 the prices are taking a hammering Pity - for all of us

Re: This is madness.......

keep it shaun, thats why mine is staying, even if that means its going to Egypt sometime.

a car like yours over here will still easily break the £10k mark. its the complete opposite to the UK here.

due to the frequent import and customs tax changes here and the instability of the egyptian pound you can sometimes buy a new car here, use it, and sell it for more than you paid for it!!! lol

complete madness!

but anyhow keep it, you love it, and the GSR induction is out now and going strong

short answer here its a buyers market, simple as that. it has been in the secondhand car trade now for quite some time now. i sold a wee motor recently in very good condition ect, ect it was a 96 but all mots fsh ect, ect...in the end it went for very little money but thats a different story...thing here is a potential buyer doesn't know your car from a shed, & there's sooo much on the market to choose from..saying this country is **** is not really helping either. your just going to play the waiting game & price the motor to the current market....another thing to remember here is not all mods if not most will not add money to the car,i mean not everybody has the same taste as you, how good you think they are is not in question here all this may sound a bit harsh, but true never the less

Re: Cheap Modified Abarth only £2800

here is an idea of what people will pay for one

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...MEWA:IT&ih=007

they are only worth what people will pay, this seller did himself no favours leaving all the tat on that though
