Re: Become a part of the FF Team - positions vacant!

The post threshold is actually quite low for a forum of this size, it's also intended to give us a clearer idea of your posting style (to see how you'd fit in in the team), your general knowledge and of course how active you are. Using you as an example, 21 posts in 3.5 years suggests (and I'm not saying that this is the case) that you only really come on the forum when you have a problem which needs solved, and tend not to contribute when others have issues. When we last had a recruitment drive 4 years ago, the threshold was suggested as 500 posts so yeah

Re: Become a part of the FF Team - positions vacant!

yeah 100 posts is nothing really... with my average post rate from my profile stats 100 posts is 27 days worth so you really don't have to be a hugely active poster to get to 100 posts. And if we are honest what you want from a moderator is someone who is on the forum often and active - go forth and get involved in some convo's you'll be at 100 in no time at all.
If for no other reason we need a minimum post count so current team can try assess if someone is suitable or not which we can't from just a few posts - you get zero idea of a persons character from just a few posts...

Just because a person hasn't posted as much as others doesn't mean they are on the forum less or would be any less dedicated or passionate about Fiat in general. Shame really.
click quick links. then click unreplied posts, there you will see all the people waiting for help, find them their answers and you will soon have 100 posts and have helped the community

A lot of people don't realise how much work behind the scenes there is.

Re: Become a part of the FF Team - positions vacant!

Ok done a little update to the application now.

A lot of people were applying for sections that already had a mod, so I've adapted it now so it will only list sections that are currently "unmodded".

If something you like the look of is there, please apply!

Remember - even if you dont drive that model, if you want to help mod it and just contribute to the discussion backstage, that is ok too!

Re: Become a part of the FF Team - positions vacant!

Hi Ben
Correct me if I am wrong & unless it has been changed since I tried one day, It's just an thought -that you make it possible for the poster to edit their individual "posts" after being submitted.
I know I have done it once virtually straight after submitting it with an edit button then a few days later wished to edit it to add extra or correct something & there it no edit button - other forums seem to have no time limit on this feature.
Just a thought.
Cheers

Hiya

This facility is available on all posts for 2 hours, leaving the option open indefinitely has been shown to cause confusion as people edit posts, after people have replied making the reply meaningless.

However, in Members Motors, you can edit your first post indefinitely (so that you can keep it as a full history or worklog of your car).

Hope that helps.
Thanks ben thanked for this post
