Well as a few of you already know, I have purchased an Abarth Punto evo esseesse only 3 weeks ago but had a mechanic give it a one over today and it appears 3 of my alloys are buckled varying from slightly to quite bad!!!

I have purchased it from possibly the biggest dealer in Scotland/UK, It is 3 1/2 years old so the warranty is gone but I have a 2 month warranty from the purchase date, is it possible I can have this sorted through the dealership as I am really not happy, a new set of esseesse alloys cost about £1500!!!!!:bang:

The only way to find out is ask your dealer. If the car was sold to you with defective parts then they have an obligation to fix it. If the worst case scenario happens then do yourself a favour and buy aftermarket alloys. Abarth alloys tend to be heavy and pretty poor quality.

They are a large reason of why I got the car in the first place, they are so much nicer than the claw alloys. I intend to visit them tomorrow and really give them it, that is a possible MOT failure and it was passed by them only recently, I will threaten to go to VOSA about them passing a car MOT wise when it has potentially unsafe parts on it.

Will give an update tomorrow, if not I don't the money currently to correct the problem but will eventually need to replace them with a fresh set of Esseesse alloys.

You seem quite knowledgeable scorpion, I was looking at these alloys as a future purchase, possibly in 2 or so months time I may purchase these if the news from Arnold Clark isn't great regarding my current alloys, I was just wondering, how do I go about taking the abarth center caps out and fitting them to these alloys, or will they only fit specific alloys? I have seen people with pro race or wolfrace and they have the abarth center caps in them so they still look genuine, some advice would be great, thank you.

The center caps on the Abarth wheels will pop out with a flat head screwdriver, just look for the notch. As far as fitting something else, that will depend, we have what is called "lemon laws" in the US but whatever the Scottish equivalent, you should not have a problem getting the dealership to make the wheels right for you.

You can get Abarth centre caps from somewhere like ebay. They generally look like the old school Abarth badges. Usually a red cap with a black scorpion. Personally I love the claw alloys,I think they are one of the funkiest designs ive ever seen. Im confident you will get some new alloys especially aa they passed it through its MOT recently. Wolfrace,Team Dynamics and OZ make some great wheel designs. And they are usually lighter and better quality than Abarth wheels.

Check that there are no cracks in the alloys as well .As far as the buckle is concerned i had an alloy repaired previously after my son hit a pot hole and it still failed the mot so it had to be replaced. However a Main Dealership should never sell a car with wheels in this condition. Get on to them
