Hi all
Another week, another issue. :(
Over bumps there is a rattle at the front, can't 'really' feel it but can definitely hear it.
I have done a (rubbish) video. Just after some advice as to what it could be? I'm thinking top mounts or drop links. There is also a clunk if I steer whilst stationary.
On the subject of top mounts, are grande punto ones the same as the abarth ones?
Thanks in advance.

it looks like from inside, car's cabin.
if it is from outside maybe some lower arm bushing i bet an ball joint failure.

Yeah I though that, but the noise when steering stationary confuses me. I don't think it can be heard outside but I don't know.
It's really horrible. Guess I'll get my wallet out and go get a mechanic to look at it ?

could be any of what you have suggested so far....
could also possibly be cv joint or any other mount engine/gearbox

Funny you say the last bit as I have a little, quiet clunk if I let off the power sometimes so I think that's going.
I'm certain this sounds like it's behind the speedo but I can't see or feel anything loose.
I'm hoping it's not the steering rack or column. :/

After investigation, it looks like it's the bolt at the top of the steering column, up under the dash. It moves slightly when knocking the steering rack.
I'm going to check with fiat if it has had the recall done so fingers crossed.

Thats an old re-call if i remember correctly was done on my 07 grande years back

I contacted fiat via Twitter who said mine wasn't affected. I tightened the bolt up as it was loose, and wa la, no more rattle! (For now, hopefully permanently!!) wasn't going to pay a dealer to fix it unless I needed to. Had to treat myself to a new tool set though ?
