Fiat 500 owners can make significant savings on their car insurance thanks to a new range of bespoke schemes introduced by specialist insurance broker Adrian Flux.
The new schemes are designed to cater specifically for owners of the iconic Italian hatchback, whether they drive a vintage 1936 Topolino or a 158 brake horsepower Abarth Esseesse.
The UK’s leading specialist car insurance broker, Adrian Flux, has in-depth knowledge and experience of the type of cult vehicle, like the Fiat 500, driven by enthusiasts, and is therefore able to offer incredibly low rates.
Gerry Bucke, general manager at Flux, said: “Fiat 500s are a cult classic, with communities of owners and enthusiasts every bit as passionate as those which have formed around the Mini and VW Beetle.
“We share the same kind of enthusiasm for motoring and understand that people who own and drive 500s have a genuine passion for their vehicle.
“We’ve found that the love these drivers have for their cars is reflected in the way they maintain and drive them, which is why we’ve created this range of specialist schemes.
“So, if you own a Fiat 500, whatever the vintage, you could stand to make a huge saving on your insurance premium.”
Adrian Flux’s Fiat 500 schemes cover all 500s, from classic originals to modern revivals, and included a variety of features such as like for like cover on all manufacturer options, modified Fiat 500 insurance and a range of extra discounts calculated around experience, reduced mileage, owners club membership and security precautions.
Significant discounts are also available for Fiat 500s listed as a second car.

Dan - could I ask you a 'quote' question in relation to the Abarth 500 and the impact that it would have on any modifications / versions ?

Which would be cheaper to insure for say a 30 year old with a full no claims bonus living in crime free part of England :

1. A stanard A500 with no modifications.
2. A 'standard' A500 with a TMC upgrade chip that produces around 160-165bhp or
3. A esseesse version A500 (often referred to as a A500 SS) that has an offical upgrade with brakes, suspension and ECU re-map giving typically 160bhp and lastly
4. A A500SS with a TMC chip upgrade giving 165-170bhp.

Any input would be greatly appreciated. I read elsewhere that option 2 was double the price of option 3 but I found it hard to believe it.

Dan - many thanks for getting back to me. I am based in Dublin in Ireland - hence the reason from not 'calling' you directly. My particulars are below (I've nothing to 'hide' :))

https://www.fiatforum.com/500/272743-new-insurance-scheme-iconic-fiat-500-a.html?p=2785172

It was more pointers re buying a standard Abarth verus a TMC'd one verus a 'proper' SS model. I was looking to import one and from an insurance perspective would it be a 'better bet' with the SS model than one has been TMC'd.

I would be 'happy' for you to use me an an example.

Dan - I wouldn't be calling you back because I'm based in Ireland. Hopefully some other forum member will contact you and relay the experiences in relation to 'loading' on the standard Abarth if they were considering a more performance orientated model like a TMC upgrade or SS model.
Cheers
Michael.

I can confirm that AF were very competitive when I asked them to quote on my A500. My previous insurer who I had been with for many years told me that they didn't insure Abarths  so I was forced to look for a new insurer.

After the usual "gocomparethemeerkatmarket" searches I then rang AF and found them extremly helpful and best of all, they are UK based. I got a good price and the 7000 mile pa limit wasn't a problem plus they give discount to FF members. (y)
