(Thinking ahead to when Connie is back on the road.)

Does anyone know where you can get hold of a Tow bar for a 900T (or 850T)?
I missed out on one a couple of years back on Ebay as I had nowhere to store it at the time. I've kept a look out since but never had a sniff of one.

On the chance there may be one out there for sale I suspect that there may be a few interested parties on the Forum who may be also interested and that there won't be enough of them to go around.

If there is a tow bar available and others are interested I'm happy to get a quote to have one fabricated - should be cheaper by the dozen.

I've just had a reply from a local (to me) company who've fitted a few towbars for me in the past. They specialise in towbars and trailers. See below for details - company is called All-Fit in Lichfield.

"Thank you for your enquiry. We have found a towbar listed that will fit your campervan, with 13 pin trailer electrics our price is £495 including fitting and VAT. Fitting would take at least half a day.

As the towbar is a special order we would need payment in advance of ordering and it would be non-returnable. We'd need to check on availability, the lead time could be up to a few weeks.

All-Fit is located about 1 mile from Lichfield town centre, close to the A38 and easily accessible from all major road routes. We offer a local lift service or we have a courtesy car and bike available. Alternatively we have a waiting area with hot drinks."

That's a very useful reply Andy. Amazing to think that you can get a proper towbar for such an obscure and rare vehicle.
I can't imagine how badly the old van would perform, fully loaded and with a trailer at the back.

Hi Andy

Thanks for the information, if they are available I'll press the outfits a bit more down here in the South - if not it will be a trip up when Connie is back on the road.

As for towing capability, how about this a s a perfect combination:

Not sure how well it does up and down hills.

Cheers

Hi Peter

Not been on here for a while...
The instructions and diagram would be helpful, if nothing else to compare the shape and position of the towbar to make sure that there is nothing in the way underneath.

Cheers
Gary

Here it is...

Hi I have an original Brink tow bar. The guy who's selling had 2. Do you still want one. I paid 75 euro for mine... (and had it blasted and powder coated for 75 euro...)

Just been checking some old 900t documents and found a reference to the maximum towing weight being 6.9 cwt. (350kg).
Unfortunately it doesn't say if this is braked or un-braked trailer, so best to assume braked to err on the side of caution.

Yes 350 kg is what's in the book. My car is passed the RDW (MOT) for import (new license plate and papers) and they wrote down 500 kg braked. But I want to pull an un-braked luggage van about 200kg...
