Hello, I'm new to the forum, I've just purchased an 850T Fiesta campervan, it has pretty much all the original parts and features, however it doesn't have the hammock bed that goes in the roof space, does anybody know where i can get one of these, or does anybody know of somebody who can make something?

Hi, great to hear of another 850T. Do you have any photo's you could post? I've had a few Fiesta's so may have even owned it at some stage.

I do have a bunk from a Fiesta which I broke some years ago and although I'd rather hang on to it for now (I'm currently restoring and converting a van) would be more than happy to send you some photo's and dimensions. They are very simple, just two heavy duty galvanised poles with a canvas stitched over them. Although the canvas part is somewhat specialist I'm sure these guys could make you one up:

If you let me know your email address I'll send you dimensions and photo when I can, though I would still check that the pole lengths and spacing seem to correlate with the position of the 'cups' on your roof into which the poles slot.

Cheers,

Andy

Hi Andy
If you could send me the pics and diemensions that would be awesome, cheers for the recommendation

the 850 i have has had one owner from new, and has been garaged for the last 20 odd years, I'll take pics when its back from the garage and i've cleaned it up, I'll post a couple of pics once i'm allowed to

cheers
Phil

Hi, thanks for posting the pics. That looks like a beauty! What's the underneath like?
It's an interesting example because most Fiesta's tend to be a year or so older and as such feature the aluminium framed windows, not rubber. The wheel trims and fog lamps are original additions by Motor Caravan Conversions when it was new. The mirrors are from a later (900) van, the originals would most likely have been the smaller wedge shaped type.
Thanks for the email, I'll be in touch. Whereabouts are you based?
Fiatfully,
Andy

the underneath is in prime condition (as is the rest of the van), yes i was told the mirrors were replaced as the originals were really small, i'm based in Manchester

Sounds lovely. And you're not overly distant (I'm I'm Hull). What colour is the roof canvas by the way, the hammocks were sometimes made from the same material? I'm guessing beige or red & white stripe.
Cheers,
Andy
