The exhaust was made from a random cherry bomb, got my eyes on a abarth one with a better manifold on Italian ebay like this one.

heres another video of the van moving for the first time this year!

Hows your van coming along?

Looks really good buddy, very cool in the green, glade your now happy with the paint.

Long over due update, not been on for a while because my computer died but have been busy with the van, should be ready for the M.O.T soon just a few things to do like the brakes and some electrical gremlins to fix.

Prepped and sprayed my Strada wheels, then fitted 155/55/14 on the fronts and 185/65/14 on the rears.

Found an old K&N air filter that I have had in the garage I just welded an adaptor plate so it would fit then made a gasket for it.

Dashboard made from mdf and covered in vinyl ( doing the doorcard this week )

Got my boy to help out by painting the wood I got for finishing the roof aperture, along with re-fitting the restored interior.

Bullet mirrors and new side repeaters, then the bumpers that are from a mini ( £35 delivered ) because I don't want to pay £200 plus to get originals from Italy!

thanks for looking

Looks superb. The chrome detailing gives it a nice bit of bling. Is the front grille plastic or is it just painted black as it would look quite nice in chrome as well.

Excellent looking great. Will carry on with mine when the weather improves

Sorry I have not been on the forum for a while I lost all my passwords and log on information due to my computer dying, anyway the van has had a little more done to it since the last update.

First thing that I have done is a full rebuild of the front trunnions i bought a rebuild kit off Italian ebay for a fraction of the price I was quoted from ricambio so was happy with that. also I cant remember if I showed it in the thread but I rather foolishly decided to cut the springs to lower the van and after I did that they didn't sit very well (first and last time I will ever cut springs!!) so after some detective work I found some new lowered springs off a MK2 escort!

Anyway to see how the van is looking now watch the little movie I made showing this whole thread summed up in 9 mins

Hi. It's Simon, the guy you bought it off of.... wow! Great job! She looks amazing!!! I'm so glad I sold her to you. Thank you

Looks like I might be selling the van now which is a shame as it is so close to being finished, but need the room in the garage for a new project that im looking at. the things that are left to do are the rear brakes, new washer bottle for the wipers, and fixing the front lights ( all work apart from only getting main beam on one side ) and making a piece of tin wear for the exhaust side of the engine bay.
Have just bought different wing mirrors ( the bullet mirrors were too small to be useful ) and a new rooflight/skylight for the pop top all included along with shed loads of spares.

Looking for £4000 or there abouts, let me know if anyone is interested.

Hi Guys,

I am the new owner of this fantastic camper. I will see 'Roxy' in the flesh tomorrow. Seeing this thread shows how much work Simon has done. I am looking to get her on the road very soon indeed. I will let you know how I get on :)

Cheers Adam

Thanks Peter. Very nearly sorted after all the brilliant work Simon has done. I need to replace the front springs as the current ones are incorrect and the ride is very poor any ideas :)

Adam, the van is so new to us that I have no idea yet, what is making the ride on ours like driving over bags of wool mixed with nails:bang: So hard to suggest what's up with yours.
They seem to have very short springs so with all the weight I can forsee issues there.
The previous owner's pre-MOT reports the steering idler, brakes, drive-shaft gaiters and a tyre needing attention. In addition there is a reasonable amount of chassis welding and a few electrical faults.

I am asking the World Peter so if I get any clues I will of course let you know. Happy camping :)

I thought I was following a thread on this maybe from a different site, where did Roxy end up going? I’ve not been able to find anything since you finished the job. I really miss this van I owned it nearly 18 years ago it was named after my first niece who is about to turn 18 in a couple weeks.
