Hi

I'm kind of unsure just what the spec of my car is, sounds weird but i'll save that explanation for another day. There is a good reason.

At the moment I have no owner manual, these are still with the main dealer after the car was offloaded to a car supermarket, they are chasing it, along with the service book and spare key.

The car was registered right at the end of 2016, I have looked at the Jan 2017 pricelist and apparently the 5.0 inch screen includes NAV.

Here and there I have also seen references to tom tom nav.

However in pics I have seen there appear to be 2 types of buttons for the 5.0 screen, both with 5 buttons in total, but one type has "trip" (like mine) as the centre button, while the other has "nav".

Have I just got a non NAV car?

I did wonder but now I'm not so sure.

Was just browsing the forum and came across this thread https://www.fiatforum.com/500x/442737-adding-nav-non-nav-500x.html

In it are the comments: "However, from early 2016, PopStar and Cross spec 500X's were fitted with the DAB & Nav upgrade for the 5" UConnect screen, with Lounge and Cross Plus spec's having the 6.5" screen. Prior to this it was only Lounge & Cross Plus that had sat nav as standard, with PopStar & Cross specs (which make up the majority of the cheaper used cars for sale currently) making do with the 5" screen without sat nav."

I am confused.

Is it a UK spec car? The supermarkets sometimes source cars from the Irish Republic, which may therefore have a different spec to those sold in the UK. My wife's Leon certainly did.

Yes.

The supermarkets have to now flag up the imports, its a recent thing. They have some delivery mile Nissan X Trail's on there which are flagged up.

I know too because mpoint told me what they knew, apparently it was registered to the Fiat main dealer in Slough late Dec 2016. Then it just seems to have sat there, 11 miles on the clock probably doesnt even cover a test drive.

Not sure about the history of the others but I coiunted 19 all turn up on the mpoint site within days, all 66 reg, all del miles.

Now more of the pics are up I think only the red ones are specced up like mine (3 left). They all appear to have the dynamic safety pack and comfort pack. The remainder (toscana green and venezia blue), havent.

There's a slight puzzle tho, I expected it'd have NAV.

The MP listings on AT says that they have the 5" screen nav, as do the other 66-reg 2.0l Cross's from other dealers.

Yes, that seems to be the case. car's from around that time should be NAV, the Jan 2017 price list has it as standard.

I'm wondering if maybe they were sat around unregistered for a while even prior to Dec 2016.

I have just looked at two 2016 price lists, in the spec description April 2016 has uconnect 5.0 with NAV, the January 2016 hasn't.

Just used the MP online chat function to query the spec of a red one. No nav, apparently (although I think they just went on the basis of what was listed on their website). Does yours have keyless entry and keyless go, as part of the Comfort pack?

I have Keyless Entry & Keyless Go on my Cross Plus

It may be that NAV is something that can be added via a software upgrade by a dealer, but I wouldn't fret over it myself, I prefer my maps to updated more frequently, although on the 5" version it is 4 updates per year, if you are the original owner (I believe)

gar - Yes. that's what I have been saying on the other thread.....look on there. The centre armrest and rear parking camera are items you cannot spedicfy as extras alone. if you look at the pics and the car has those 2, they have lots of other things too, some u can see some u cant.

Its the comfort pack (armrest, electric lumbar, keyless) and dynamic pack(rear camera, blind spot, anti collision, lane departure). I've got all of this on mine.

I think mpoint go off standard specs, they dont really know what their dealing with.

alan - I'm kind of ambivalent on it to be honest, will see what the dealer says in 12 months time. Not a dealbreaker for the money I paid for the car, lol.

In that case, very well done! I'm very tempted myself, as I'm increasingly irritated by how slow my Panda Cross TA is.

Cowabunga, if you have the reversing camera surely you have the 6.5 inch screen. My 1.4 Trek, not a plus model, has all those extras as well. My feeling is that it was a launch model car that was unsold as the launch model had all those bits included.

Ron - Its definitely the 5. I went for some floormats last week to a fiat dealer and put them into a cross plus they has there, that screen was noticeably larger. As for it being a launch model I believe that was the opening edition, thats the 2 litre i drove on 18 inchers and hated the ride.

gar - I see mine as a cross plus in all but name, and one of those now in passione is 27k list exactly. the plus has the 18 inchers which i hate and the xenons which i'd like but would be fearful if i ever had to replace one, I wouldn't expect it to be cheap. the only missing thing is the colour 6.5 and 3.5 plus nav. On the flipside I have electric lumbar, lane control, front collision mitigation, blind spot monitoring, and spare wheel. I think that's it. So it's like losing the £1,500 going down from cross plus to cross and then speccing it back up with £1,500 of equivalent value.... well not quite because the plus has 2/3 rd's of the comfort pack, and 1/4 of the safety pack, but about that.

Sav nav i can get on my phone if i ever go somewhere im not familiar with, i have 16gb monthly allowance i can't use more than 5gb of atm.

All in all it's about half rrp. Mpoint do have a silly £99 del charge and you pay for road tax £150, so £13,248 in total.

If your ever considering a 500x, it'll probably be the best deal you'll ever see.

I love mine, just wish I had more time at the moment to explore it as I'm looking after my young daughter.

I have the Xenons and they're fantastic. I haven't needed to replace one yet but even Halfords were quoting £60 per side, god knows what Fiat would charge

Apparently they do last well though

ahh, so the plus hasn't got the camera, for what it's worth it's good, i like it.

I had no idea that'd be so cheap....ok, change of stance, i wouldnt mind the xenons, lol.

Didn't realise you could have a rear view camera with a 5 inch screen, goes to prove you learn something every day.
