This LED which is one of the 3 buttons under the touchscreen indicates whether the passenger airbag is on or off. On my car it remains on (showing the option selected) all the time - just wondered if this is correct. Thought it might go out after initial indication. Can someone please advise me. Many thanks in advance.

I believe the passenger airbag is something that can be manually turned on/off using the button for child seats etc. Has it been accidentally turned off?

It is meant to light up for a few seconds when ignition is turned on then extinguish. If it detects a fault you should hear the 'bong'. It should also be recorded in your 'Alerts' if there is a fault. So I'd check the button to see if it's been accidentally turned off

Many thanks for your reply. I don't think I've made myself very clear. It's not the airbag warning light within the rev counter I'm referring to it's the non operational large button alongside the red hazard warning button under the touchscreen. It's permanently showing a yellow led showing the passenger airbag either on or off depending on which setting I have selected.

I think that's correct, as long as it changes when you operate the button I seem to picture mine being on permanently now you remind me. The absence of a 'bong' would be a good sign I suspect. Next time I go out to the car I'll check it

The light on the large round button is on if the airbag is active, selecting if you want the airbag active or not is carried out on the Uconnect unit. The light in the instrument cluster lights when the ignition is first turned on and should go off after a short period, if it stays on or lights up whilst driving it is indicating there is a problem with the airbag system.

The light on the button is on all the time. The button is not a working button it only shows the airbag is on. If you disable the airbag in the instrument cluster then the light goes out. I think it's a daft place to have a light showing all the time. I think it was done just to match up with the other two buttons?

The button can not be operated....it just houses the light.

I pressed it and thought "whats the point of that", I can switch it off in the screen controls and the light goes of though I believe.
