Hi everyone.
Three months ago I bought a new 500x Popstar from Mangoletsi in Cheshire. It arrived with the one key, the main key fob, and was assured the spare key would follow on in a few days, as the car was sourced from another dealer.

Three months later, after numerous emails and phone calls, the second key has arrived. It is different from the main key as the metal key part detaches from the plastic fob which has lock/unlock/open boot buttons. It seems a bit weird to pull out the metal key and use that to start the car? .....I'm presuming that's how to use it anyway.

Anyway, the fob buttons when pressed has no effect and the metal key barrel does not open the car door, so I presume I need to go back to the dealer and get the spare key encoded to work? Thanks in advance.

I think the problem is that key is the main key fob for a keyless ignition car also it doesn't work as it is the main key for another car so you can report this to the dealer and get your actual spare or ask them to encode it under warranty or they might take the key and get your actual spare

edit: Also the reason the metal part comes out is that it is used to unlock the doors to the keyless ignition car as it can't start the igntion
