Just bought a 500X 2.0 Multijet 4X4 Cross Auto first registered 29/12/16 with 10 miles on the clock. My question is when do I have the first service/inspection done? Should it be this December or 12 months from now in June 2018?
Comments would be most appreciated, Thanks.

I agree, December, 12 months from new. Did you buy it from Arnold Clarke? Almost all of theirs had 10 miles on the clock

December; the schedule is on time from registration or mileage whichever comes first. It shouldn't cost much as I don't think they do much other than look at it and go 'oo it's a car, with wheels and everything' for the first service. Good for software updates etc though.

I don't agree with the comments, I believe that the first service should be 12 months or 10k miles which ever comes first from the point that you bought it not the point it was first registered, as for 6 months of it's life it has been sitting idle..

I bought my Fiat Cross 66 plate in April and my Connect Service is counting down 365 days from the date I purchased it not from the date it was first registered which was 6 month earlier..

Is there an entry in the Service Record corresponding to the date you bought it?

Yes, and on the Uconnect Live it is counting down the days from when I purchased the car not from when it was first registered, basically bought the car with 50miles on the clock.

If you have a Service stamp by a Fiat/VAT Registered dealer/garage, with date an mileage, which you say you have as confirmed by car's service computer then as far as Fiat and warranty are concerned it is LAST service date + 30 days OR last service + 9000 mileage + 1000 miles (ie no more than 1000 miles over the indicated mileage due figure.

I believe the Fiat dealers also register any service information on Fiat's system (eSIGI ?) so any Fiat dealer should be able to tell you exactly when your next service is due.

The question you may wish to ask your

I don't have a service stamp because the car has never been serviced, I bought it from new Pre-Registered with only 50 miles on the clock.

The car was registered 6 months earlier by the garage but has been sitting idle..

My UConnect has been counting down the days from the day I purchased the Vehicle which was back in April.

It's great to have all these opinions.

Checking with Fiat UK and getting it in writing so you don't loose your warranty good idea.

It's all about keeping that warrant.

Good advice! And if in any doubt whatsoever, get it serviced by the December date. Doesn't it tell you in the T's and C's in the warranty book? Mine's not to hand so I can't check.
