Hello for all happy users of 500x.
Waiting for new MY17 since january...
Well finaly dealer send confirmation ,car should be with me within next two weeks...
After all rumble about specificstion for car(ordered LOUNGE 1.4T with winter pack and visibility pack) car is in UK CUSTOM IN BRISTOL...unfortunately without bi-xenon lights- now they are in premium pack, also alloy wheels downsized to 17'instead 18 and no ambient lighting inside...
So again fiat changed some stuff without any notice...
But still geting excited and looking forward to have new 500x
Regards fo all fiat users
Andy

Hi Andy,
I ordered my 500x Pop Star with winter & visibility packs on 30th Jan, and heard nothing yet, except some weeks ago to be advised that the upholstery had changed (from the image I received it appears for the better)
When in Jan did you order?

If that kit was part of the published specification when you ordered, then surely you're not being supplied with what you were promised? Sounds like a breach of contract to me.

Indeed. It does appear that Andy should expect to be reimbursed for the elements of the spec ordered that are not received.

Absolutely, if the car does not match the spec as advertised on date of order there should be an adjustment in price at the very least. Bearing in mind the amount of money that Fiat are plowing into the 500X they should add on the missing bits to bring it back up to spec, but I don't think that can be done retro

Fraid not. If you look at the bottom of the configurator page, like all manufacturers Fiat put in a disclaimer "The manufacturer reserves the right to make any changes of a construction or commercial nature they feel necessary at any time without prior warning."
The 17" wheels are probably better as they will improve the ride and tyres will be cheaper. The bi-xenons are very good but expensive to fix if a bulb fails. The ambient lighting is a nice touch but I wouldn't miss it.
It's annoying, but I don't think the bits you are missing will spoil your enjoyment of the car. Still worth a whinge to the dealer though - he won't be able to change the spec but he may throw in some mats or something!

I picked my 500x pop star up just over a week ago and when I ordered it, the spec included the cooled glove box. Picked it up and it didn't have a cooled glove box. Was told about the disclaimer, yet I've raised a case with Fiat who are checking if the spec has changed or if it's been mis-built. If the spec has changed then there's nothing that can be done.

I have no idea about other models but mine has 2 glove boxes on the passenger side and auto A/C. It is only the smaller, upper glove box that is cooled, nothing sophisticated, just a vent to open inside the glovebox on right hand side. Does this help at all?

Yeah I've got both glove boxes but in the top one there isn't the vent. It's probably had a spec change to remove it but just waiting to have it confirmed

That's a very backward step and hardly saves you or Fiat very much money at all. Ridiculous

Hi Gwandy, re your car not having the Bi Xenon lights. I have checked and was thinking of converting my standard headlamps to BZ's but it is noy on. My answer was to ditch the supplied bulbs and replace them with Philips 'Racing Vision' bulbs claim up to 150% more brightness however they work that out. Having had cars with BZ's previously I can say these bulbs come very close to that performance, brighter, better colour and beam pattern. They came first in last years Auto Express test. About £25.00 on the net. Only downside is there life is rated at about 350 - 400 hours. Hope that helps

It looks like there have been changes to the specifications for various trims. My 500X PopStar was delivered in October 2016 (66 plate), and I just tried to re-do it on the configurator.

Things that no longer exist or changed that I've noticed?
- Leather for the PopStar, unless you want it black on a few body colours. We've got the blue body and tobacco brown leather, looks fabulous, but is completely gone from the entire range. The interiors seem to have had a downgrade?
- Various alloys have disappeared in different sizes or now locked to the Lounge
- Cooled glovebox gone!
- Metallic bronze now locked to the Lounge

I'm sure there's more!

I placed order on 27january but office in Italy told order was placed on 10th of february...well today i visit local dealer an have done all paper work ...soon we will see whats come in 500x

Had an update today. Mine is stuck in Bristol customs awaiting code (new code required apparently as new spec 500x) before it can be loaded on transporter. Not quite sure what it all means except a bit of a delay.

I just tried to reconfigure my Cross Plus. I can still get almost all of the Packs etc, except I didn't see any mention of an alarm any more. What struck me was the increase in price. I didn't pay the full List Price because I bought it Almost New, but it was about £5k dearer than the price as I remember it, from 15 months ago.

Value of the pound versus the euro plus a bit of inflation? In the fourth quarter of 2015 the pound was worth about €1.4, now it's around €1.15.

Yes, I'm sure you're right, and cutting back on the fitted extras presumably helps to keep the price rises more reasonable. The downside is that the customer never knows what spec they're getting till the car arrives at the dealership

Yes, it's irritating isn't it. They only seem to tweak minor aspects of the spec. but it would be annoying to lose a little feature you particularly wanted. I suppose that's an advantage with buying nearly new, you can see exactly what you are getting.
