Here's an interesting one... Car was parked all day in the sunshine , got into car started it , selected first....Ouch!!!!!.... Burnt the side of my finger on the metal/ chrome ring that goes around the centre of the gear knob. Didn't expect that[emoji15]

Always something to beware of with the full metal gearknobs too. Either chrome or aluminium will burn, and can give frostbite in winter. The plastic one on the 500 Pop is much better. Needs a duster or flannel over it when parked.

Thought this forum would be a little more grown up, especially given there are members of both sexes enrolled..?

Erm, what exactly are you trying to say. Your imagination is working overtime, perhaps I should've made things clearer relating to the actual gear knob. you should be ashamed of yourself suggesting anything else.(n)

FYI its called a 'double entendre' (but I'm sure you knew that when you posted your 'knob gag'). I can't think of any vernacular phrase that encompasses 'hand job' and 'knob' other than your attempt to be inappropriate.
Anyway, I'll leave it to others to decide......

In all seriousness I think you need to chill out fella. It would almost be funny if it wasn't so sad, on your over reaction to an antonym. It seems that you're the type that overstates his displeasure way too much regarding political correctness. It's almost like a fashionable response, a fad if you will. Seems to be the new hobby. There are others like yourself out there in society, getting all worked up over petty stories in the press & showing their displeasure by going overboard/outraged on what offends them. Quite bizarre.

This phenomenon has been discussed lately on television & in the press. Not aimed at yourself but I just wonder, as others have has as well, is this some sort of release valve, does it make people feel better about themselves? I suppose sharing your displeasure about something may help to relax the kind of person who over reacts to words/phrases that brings out the worst in some.
Try to relax now....:)

I started this post knowing it probably would cause some light hearted banter as it did when I told my friends about my burn! Life is short....Humour makes the world go round![emoji106]

And this was how hot the car was! IMG_1472310088.366282.jpg

Good for you twobigdogs. I knew this by your style. I've always enjoyed the banter on here & even as an old git, I've still retained my sense of humor, albeit a bit schoolboy at times. I've been on the forum for over ten years now & find it both informative & humorous at times, the craic is always an ice breaker. We are all big kids at heart, I've said so many times on here,I try to make my association with cars as upbeat as possible. Happy trails....:D

I'd like to be member of a Fiat Forum that my wife and daughter (both Fiat owners) can visit without being assailed by smutty 'knob' comments.
If you can't or won't understand that then I feel for you. Goodnight.

Oh dear, now I'm worried about you. If I didn't know any better, I would think this is a wind up! Chill out fella, find another forum if you're seriously offended. A goodnight from me to.

Part of me still thinks this is a wind up...:D

What a sad sad person you must be! If you think this is smutty you must really struggle with modern life. I suggest you stay indoors with the blinds drawn. Anyway I'm off to watch a carry on film.........

I consider myself a fair man & believe it or not if twobigdogs who started this thread had been offended, I would have happily deleted my post. I certainly would not expect everyone to agree with my thoughts & opinions, hey, that's what makes things more interesting, it's always refreshing to have several takes on any subject.

We are all pretty open minded these days & personally, banter on here is a good thing. To be honest I'm curious, if this is not a wind up, it certainly smacks of way over the top indignation. There is always an underlying reason for such behaviour, & perhaps I'm a bit of a sad old git myself taking things this far, but as I've said I'm just curious. I've always fancied myself as bit of a psychiatrist & trying not to sound to much of a know all, I'm never a million miles from the truth/answer.

Sorry off topic, my mind is conjuring up:D all sorts of scenarios........

I've made my point quite clear why I object and you just don't get it: two bigoted sad old men with closed minds have variously patronised, bad mouthed and alluded to a variety of mental issues they think they can pin on me. Hardly within the rules of this forum and it does not bode well for welcoming new members.

So I'll make it easier for you before you waste any more time throwing out more insults by saying you're right and I'm wrong.
I look forward to both your contributions on future threads possibly entitled 'Horn problems', 'Damp Seats' and 'I've just been rear-ended'.

Be aware that warm feeling of smug self satisfaction and righteousness you are both experiencing now could be due to you not taking a comfort break every 15 minutes.

Dear God .... You really have issues!......"bigoted sad old men?" Are you for real?....Go back and read the previous posts.... I've no idea what your problem is but it seems it is pretty major! I will not waste my time responding to any more of your mad ramblings.....Thank God there is a blocking option.....sorted![emoji106]
