Went to the dealers today to price up a 500x.
Agreed the model and options but I was told that they were unable to process a factory order until March.

It seems that Fiat have decided the 500X is stealing sales from the 500L and to stop this they are relaunching the 500X (go figure).

Apparently the pop and pop star are being upgraded, alloy wheels & air con on the pop and sat nav on the pop star.

The upshot is that pending the relaunch, Fiat are not accepting new orders. I was quoted 8 to 12 weeks delivery on factory builds so it would be May/June before delivery.

This seems illogical to me but I wondered if anyone else has been told this?

The words "p*ss-up" and "brewery" spring to mind.

About a fortnight ago I tried to factory order one for a customer and the 500x wasn't listed as new to order.
Checked again on Friday and managed to order it no problem.

And I just checked with another dealer and they weren't aware of a problem either.
I'll try my local dealer one last time.

Aye see what they say.

I got much the same story on Saturday. The Pop Star will now include Sat Nav and Puncture repair kit as standard, losing the space saver.

The current "Dealer deposit" and finance deals run to the end of March for 2015MY cars. 2016MY cars can then be ordered from 1st April.

I learnt long ago not to trust anything a car salesman says, so ymmv.

So I wonder what the change to Cross plus will be?

Don't think its an option to cancel my order though as its taking long enough to turn up as it is!!

Just talked to the dealer. Seems my car is still a month out as the number options I've chosen makes it a "difficult" build. Perhaps I shouldn't have ordered six doors after all....the things salesman feel they need to say.

Still it's a better build time than certain German manufacturers.

Sounds like crap to me.

I've ordered numerous cars with options on them and have all arrived on time/ early.
If you had a chassis number, I could go onto link and see what status your car is at.
