Hi folks,

Just in the process of trading in my panda 4x4 but in light of the current weather does anyone know the safe wading depth of the 500x? Is it as good as the Panda? I've had to rely on the high air intake several times around North Yorkshire over the last 2 years.

Thanks.

The only safe wading height is to the bottom sill line.

On my 500X this is 23cm (230mm). Any water deeper than 20cm will be a problem unless you don't mind water entering through the floor pan / sill drain holes.

Thanks, I was thinking more of where the air intake was located. I know on the Panda 4x4 they raised it up to behind the headlight to increase the safe wading depth without killing the engine.

A general rule of thumb is top of the alloys, but as others have said, most important is to check where the air intake is.
