I bought it from a non Fiat dealer (Arnold Clark)...does that matter? Or will I need to take it to a Fiat dealer?



You will ned a franchised Fiat dealer for the updates, everything else can be done by phone or email
 
I've just done the check your vin number on the driveuconnect page.

And it says it's not available on my vehicle? Everywhere else says it should be! I'm confused.

I think that site is for the American market. Last time I looked there was no equivalent page on the EU site. Fiat Customer Services should be able to help you over the phone.
 
So Fiat have enabled it, all good.

But the option still isn't available on my screen in the car. Any idea of what to do next?

A). What firmware version do you have? It seems you need v 16 or higher

B). Do you have a uConnect account set up?

C). Do you have the uConnect Live app on your phone and on the Apps screen on your unit?

If the answer is YES to all you should just pair your mobile with the uConnect via Bluetooth, activate the app on your phone and then go to the Apps screen on your uConnect unit and when the uConnect app turns white press it, that should then launch all your services. Some are available thru the app and TomTom Live is accessed via the Nav screen. The blue Info disc will be replaced by a purplish one if activated, with far more options.

Yep

No, when I press 'Apps' I only have Clock and Compass :(

It's in the uConnect settings, one of the last bits you scroll down to on the 6.5 version. "System Information" or similar. Version 16 will also give you a new icon at the top of your screen that changes colour depending upon how economically you're driving
 
Hmm, can't seem to find this! I think I don't have firmware 16 by the looks of it...
