Just wondering what mpg you get and how do you find the car?
What's the noise like from the engine?
How's the gearbox?
What's the clutch like?
Have they lightened the flywheel I.e is it easy to stall and difficult to find the right gear/down change?
How long are the gears, how slow can you drive in 2nd for example?
Is the Auto handbrake a pita?

Thank you.

I've done about 9,000 miles so far, so here is my take on the car:

- Average noise. I've heard worse and I've heard a lot better. It usually starts quite loud in the morning when its cold, but once I've driven for 10 minutes I can barely hear the noise. I'm quite happy with the engine sound, I expected it would be a lot worse.

- Nice and improved over the previous iterations. Definitely not at the same level of a Merc A-Class/B-Class manual gearbox.

- Depends really. I've seen cars with heavier clutches, so average again. I'm quite happy.

- I don't have any problems starting or stalling. I haven't owned another fiat for 10+ years. But it feels similar to other brands/models I've owned. Happy again.

- I usually go: 1st, 2nd, 4th, 6th. I rarely use 3rd and 5th. My only problem is that the 6th gear is just not long enough, I always find myself thinking that I've got 5th instead of 6th. But alas, I'm in 6th... wishing there was a 7th gear...

- The auto hand brake works 4 out of 5 times for me. 1 out of 5 it does not disengage and I'm stuck in 1st gear trying to move without success. Annoying.

Overall I don't have any really important issues with the car. Just two disappointments:

My first disappointment was the suspension and the 18" wheels that my Lounge version is fitted with. The suspension is too stiff for my tastes and those 18" wheels aren't helping.

My second disappointment was the Chrysler uconnect system, which feels like 90's technology. Their developers must come from the DOS/Win95 era... otherwise I can't explain their total failure to produce something better than that. I mean guys, can't they just stick a smartphone with a Snapdragon cpu and a custom Android on the dashboard?... jesus.

raspberry pi offers more power and features than uconnect... (n)

ok so I'm a grumpy old man with technology issues.. :p

*edit*
I just noticed that you are asking about the 2.0 engine, sorry about that, I've got the 1.6 diesel.

Ok mine is the automatic but for comparison
Average 43 mpg.
Had no problems with the electric handbrake. Touch wood.:)

Ive just bought the 2.0ltr Diesel Cross AWD version, done about a 1000miles in it so far.

Averaging about 45mpg at the moment, I don't use the car for commuting at present so it's mainly used for more lengthy continuous drives as opposed to stop starts..

No issues so far with Hand Brake, but I only really engage it when Ive reached my destination..

Sound is good, I like the low growl the engine gives me, ride noise is pretty good, had much worse..

Movement through the gears can be bit clunky, mainly drive in Comfort mode so uptake through 1st and 2nd is very slow..

Sport Mode rectifies the above and adds some excitement..

My Uconnect, still wondering what it does..lol

Is it an automatic? Still waiting for some comments on the 2.0 AWD manual. They're evidently a rare beast!

Why have a manual? The auto is supposedly more economical. I get up to 52mpg out of mine

Set the handbrake to auto.....then you don't need to touch it.

How on earth do I do that?

Go into the settings on the touchscreen and change the brake to auto. Then it comes on every time you turn the engine off. You then never need to touch the handbrake button.....when I bought the car the salesman never told me this and I used to keep pulling the handbrake switch to engage the brake...I thought what is the point of an auto handbrake if i had to keep pressing it.....

Found it now, thanks buddy...

Still a bit dubious however of the Hill Start Assist on the handbrake...

Not sure I enjoy putting my life in the hands of a temperamental electrical system...lol

Hill Start Assist works just fine on my Auto

I find with hill start assist it is very difficult to decide if a hill is steep enough for the hold to come into play. Tend still to put the brake on if in doubt.

Same here ..always stop on a hill with foot on brake either in or out of gear....then just pull away normally and the car doesn't roll back.

I don't have that issue at all. Even the slightest incline activates it and persuades the car to pull away in 1st instead of 2nd
