I have a 500L that is under warranty until June 2018. The clutch pedal started squeaking when released a few months ago, at first I thought it was my shoe! I took it to the dealer and they lubricated it, no change. I took it back a second time and they lubricated another part. It's started squeaking again, albeit quietly at present. Clutch pedal working fine. I'll take it back in but surely this shouldn't keep happening? Although it's an inconvenience at least it costs me nothing at present.
 
Mine also had a squeak which was annoying, did try to sort myself but kept happening then all of a sudden it stopped, then a few weeks later it came back.
 
On my 500X I just had a similar problem, a little "field mouse" under pressure :)

No feeling/lumpy feeback in the pedal etc.

Was resolved by dealer (I didn't investigate myself) by some lube on the master cylinder push rod shaft/rubber gaiter interface.

Peter Pick-Up mentions Teflon spray.

From past experience, especially on older Fiats, the choice of lubrication for pedal shaft bearing noisy/grabbing has to be done carefully. WD40 or 3 In-One will work for a while but the problem will occur again and in my experience worse than before.

A Teflon or Silicon lube will have a far better result.

Just be careful to find/diagnose the exact problem before jumping in with the oil spray gun :)
 
WD-40 has hardly any lubrication habbits, it's Water Dispersant, and it will also disolve any lube/grease that's present, so a very bad choice here.
( it's made in the 60's to keep f.i. ingnitions dry....)

Absolutely agree. Not wanting to focus on any brand/type there are important factors wrt greases/lubricants/other that people should understand.

Some pointers are:

o Penetration / capillary
o Water dispersal
o Water resistance (not the same as dispersal)
o Heat resistance
o Load bearing
o Traction (ability to remain where it was placed)
o the list goes on ........

Many lubricants have shared/multiple properties.

WD40 - Good for penetration and water disposal. Poor on long term water resistance, heat resistance, load bearing and traction.

As they say there is the "right tool" for the "right job" and often the wrong tool will provide relief but another tool application visit will be required to complete the job.
