I think the only difference is in the display itself, the newer one which I have does not have most of the option as the older display has.

@Ben87 this is what I get when I press the "Settings" on the UConnect and then in the last bit of the video I press the "Set" button which brings up limited options.

The radio display may look damaged on the video but I have kept the cover over it from when I had it new.

Thanks for posting the video. That was quite helpful :) I still have far less options than you on the UConnect screen when pressing "Settings" though.

In regards to the dash screen, I don't think the screen in your car is newer, I think it's just the standard screen which is installed on the Pop trim.

I'm pretty sure if we could find a dealer that has the latest Pop and Lounge trim available, they would find the exact same display as you have on the Pop, and the exact same display as I have on the Lounge. I don't think the displays have changed at all over the years.

Very odd with the different settings you have on yours. Are you able to put up a video showing what you get?

In regards to the screen I thought they had updated them when they changed the specs of the car. Only reason why I thought that, was the one we test drove, which was a Lounge if I recall and I just assumed that when mine turned up with a different display that was one of the changes.

According to the owners manual (including the owners manual for the 2015/2016 model), there are two display types, a standard display, and a multi function display which is only on the higher trim levels. One is not newer than the other - they are just installed on different trim levels.

Interesting, ours is a Lounge, so maybe it will have it then. Fingers crossed!

If our Lounge turns up with it, then I guess we'll have ruled out age being a factor then. Roll on end of March and I'll be able to confirm. :)

The only option that appears on my UConnect screen when pressing "Settings" is "Rain Sensor" which lets me change the sensitivity.

In regards to the dash display and digital speedometer...

I suspect this will be the answer to our question...

Pop Trim (standard display): Not possible
Lounge Trim (multi display): Possible but only with the latest software

Hopefully I am wrong.

I would be quite confident that your Lounge will turn up with the "First Page" option and digital speedometer. The factory should use the latest software.

Let us know when it arrives :)

It seems we are getting somewhere lol.

So the standard display does not have any option for digital display but the Lounge does. You should be fine then SuffolkBexx getting the Lounge.

Getting back to the original question about changing settings for the light sensor I can only suggest that maybe there is no option and it is fixed at a set point. I'll do a bit of digging and see if I can find any other info out

I have looked through the manual at the setup options and I know this is specific to which version you have but I thought it might give some idea of what you should get according to this when pressing the "Set" button.

The only options I get when I press the "Set" button if I remember them are

Menu
Speed Buzzer (possibly not this)
Buzzer
Service
Airbag

Also just as a thought, I paid extra to have the Rain Sensor / Automatic Lights so that might be one of the reasons why I find this option from pressing the "Setting" button rather than the "Set" button

You were right! :D My 16 plate Lounge does indeed have the First Page option and the digital speedo.

I've just bought my first fiat 500l on a 63 plate and cannot access the full menu as per the manual like all the previous posts. What I cannot see in the forum is if any of you solved the problem. Is this still an issue? I have tried all the ways talked about but still seem to be missing something! Any further thoughts please?

Which is your instrument panel? First one or second?

This dashboard panel above does not have configurable features,

The changeable features are only supported in this dashboard panel. If they're missing they are probably of an older variant/software number.

I have the 500L Living Popstar 1.3 (15 reg), and it is present and configurable via the arrows and set with 'First Page' showing. If it is not present, this is something for Fiat to look into.

My one gives the speedometer (which I always use as its way too tiny to read off the gauge) and the trip details and a hidden turbo pressure screen (which appears to have been removed since the last time I took it to Fiat - becareful with their dealerships, they stole my car tools!).
