General Sort of ticking noise

General Sort of ticking noise

I never look at the MPG as we all know it's not a true account, I do not really do enough driving to warrant a diesel which is why we opted for the petrol version.

UPDATE

I have been onto Fiat customer services now and they have opened up a case and should now be speaking to Vospers.

According to the guy at Vospers that I have spoken with they are telling me that I am unable to reject the car until they come back and say that there is an actual fault with the car itself. I do not accept that at all and if we do decide to go down that route then we will but I am trying to give them the benefit of getting this sorted otherwise this is really going to be our only option and then maybe look elsewhere or go for a different engine version

UK consumer law around rejection of cars is quite a complex area and not as straightforward as sometimes people think it is. It may be worth talking to a solicitor as certainly you aren't going to get anything like impartial advice from the dealer.

If not a solicitor then citizens advice may be able to help.

Some basic advice here that may be of help.

Good luck which ever route you take.

Well after x amount of weeks I finally have my car back and it all seems to be fixed.

After all the work they have carried out according to the report I have here the last thing written by the technician was "removal of front bumper and test driven fault gone, found front radiator plastic guard vibrating"

So after the whole thing of originally a wheel bearing gone to it being a standard noise for this model version there was indeed an issue with it.

Since picking the car up I have noticed that the original nightmare of getting the car into 6th gear is now a lot better, this has probably helped by having the gearbox drained and removed.

Hopefully now I can have a bit of happy motoring and nothing else crop up with the car. I dread to think what it would have cost to get this sorted with the work they have carried out.

Thanks for the update - it may help someone on here in the future. Glad you are sorted.(y)

Goes to show that it wasn't just a "standard" noise then eh;)

Indeed, and I have spoken to Fiat customer services telling them how disgusted I am that Vospers should even say this. Makes you wonder how many more people have been fobbed off because they either can't be bothered looking into something or it would cost them quite a bit of man hours as mine has done to put right.

I just hope they have done a good fix and it will last 3 years before I get shot of the car, if not I know what the problem is.

Well all the best with it.

If you ever need to get more warranty work/servicing done, would highly recommend W Sanders near Holsworthy. They are an official Fiat service/warranty dealer and are a really nice bunch of people to deal with (had our Panda serviced by them in April). And they are significantly cheaper than Vospers too re servicing.

Now I know it's not the most convenient place to get to for you, especially with Vospers being on your doorstep, but I can't imagine it's any more than an hours drive. I arranged a courtesy car with them which was charged per mile driven; think it cost me something like £6 to do 80 miles or so, which included insurance cover etc.

Also Bude is only about 15min away, so you could go to the beach for a few hours:D
