I was at the Ricoh Arena (Sky Blues Fan! (y)) yesterday getting presents for my lads and came across what appears to have been a dealer preview of the 500L. Official Fiat 500L parking signs. They had at least a dozen 500L'sin varying shades/specs. All LHD cars on French plates..........

Certainly was! I was there and had a good play, very impressed with the car. What were your impressions of it, out of interest?

Nice one elation. TBH its a bit ugly.... And to me looks like an over-sized Panda. Not sure I entirely like this multi platform arrangement deal - A bit too much like what MINI are doing to be honest.
I will be keeping an eye on though as we're watching the potential 500X as its supposed to be the Sedici replacement which I was in (its the wifes!). (though she has already said she wants an All4 Countryman :(

Taken a pre-order today for one, customer is swapping an early Multipla and Mk3 Panda, changing to one car.

Indeed, not entirely sure they're the people who a designer had on their drawing board in Italy, but hey ho, if they're happy...

Families. Everything is meant for families these days. And rich ones too if the pricing means anything.

Well, Fiat had some competitors cars there.

Vauxhall Meriva - Very sparsely equipped, and cheap feeling car, for lots more.

Ford B-Max - Clever doors, but as above. Handles very well apparently.

Citroen C3 Picasso - Personally quite like it, but again a bit more money for a similar spec, and getting long in the tooth now.

Mini Countryman - Again, add about £2500 for the same spec, plus much higher running costs.

I don't think they've done a bad job, and I don't think the pricing is excessive either.

I find it strange that they omit the hyundai ix20 as a competitor?
Well specced and undercuts the 500l on price too.
Is it just me or are Hyundai/Kia doing what Fiat used to do ie: nicely put together cheap cars?

Have to agree.... Had a look at the i10 and i20, and the Picanto, when we were thinking of buying a Mk4 Panda. Not quite got the character of the Panda; but felt well built; and, with all the toys optioned, were extremely competitively priced.... And who's going to say no to a seven year warranty...?
