Feb 2008?
That's 7 months away.
I might be dead by then.
I want one in the next month or so , not next year!

Anyone know an importer who imports left hooker Fiats from the continent?

I have got the DVLA's import pack, but it looks too complicated for me to import and register a vehicle myself. Apparently some agents/importers are allowed to use a simplified DVLA system of documentation. The dealers in France are willing to sell me a 500 but don't have a clue about the procedure of bringing it over to the UK, and obviously it's not something they are used to being asked!

Hopefully some enterprising company will import 1 or 2 of these 500s and sell them on to mugs like me who are too impatient to wait til 2008! :)

there is a company based out of west london, whose name escapes me, that can do just that, they were present at all the AI events last year with a couple of lancia ypsilons they had imported over....i would imagine they will be gearing up right now for the 500

Sounds promising. Let me know if you remember the name of the company. :)

the warranty wont be valid if you did import, and you'll lose several thousand pounds before you even see it. it would be absolute madness, even a mug would run away.

You are probably right, but I still like the idea.

I can't find any West London importer advertising in the old AutoItalia magazines but I don't have every issue.

Ahh Kevin I know, I'm desperate too! What happened to holding out to see the 2008 Ka? :D I really want to get a new set of wheels and I was a bit miffed to hear it's not out until February next year, but hey, at least we've got a definite date.

Importing would be crazy - but if you do find any more details let me know... I may too also do something crazy...

Until then it's either another Ka but with a few comforts like a CD player, central locking, electric windows etc... or maybe a Panda, I don't know! The 1.3 Diesel over on Fiat Supa Saver is rediculously cheap at £5,800.

I posted earlier in the Fiat 500 thread that i would love one but depending on price and spec.
But with such a high price, a wait until Feb 2008 and then doing a deal for an ex-demo Panda 100hp for £7500 it was no contest

It means nothing , I know, but I was told today that the 500 has had its sales allocated for the next two years, such has been the demand.

I am assuming that this doesn't mean RHD sales, so we should still see cars available in February, unless they all get bagged:cry:

I saw somewhere that Fiat Italy have claimed this week to have sold 25000 units worldwide (a figure which just happens to be 500 X 500).

I may be keen to own one, but I want to actually see the product and know the price before I place an order!:D

Fiat sent out a press release with the 500 logo on it 50 times, saying 25000 units sold already (50 x 500 = 25,000) not 500x500 which I said before. :eek:ops

They expect to sell 55,000 units by the end of 2007
and 125,000 units by the end of 08. :)

Will it be getting the new 105bhp 1.3 Diesel just announced for the little Lancia I wonder?

Looks good at just 119 Co2 and 62mpg(y)
