Hey guys, after stalking for a week I've decided to register. I owned a lounge 1.2 and only had it for 2 years before switching cars, I've definitely been missing it but felt like I wanted something a bit more so...... test drove a 500s ta 105 at the weekend and it was exactly what I wanted. They've offered to take my car with the negative equity (it seems a generous valuation, more than others have offered (about £1,000 more and £1,300 to pay off the last amount owed) also £1,500 towards the deposit too. The interest seems a bit higher at 5.9% than I was expecting, does this seems alright for a car on pcp? I rushed into getting my last car after the lounge and don't want to make the same mistake. Should I be holding on for a bit or grabbing this offer while I can? Thanks guys ?

As the website suggests you were due £1100 "discount" for taking finance and you've got their profit margin as a further discount (the £400 difference) and paying your part exchange off I'd have thought. They make money on the finance (cheaper rate than I've seen) and meeting sales quota for September. They're not a charity, so it's good news for you and them. What colour did you go for? (y)

I've not ordered it yet as I was offered one in stock (test drive car) without the extras I wanted but not sure whether to do a factory order or not. Trying to decide what's worth the money. Think I'm gonna go with tech house grey. Cool, sounds like it's a good deal I've been offered ?? Thanks for your reply ?

Wait and get the spec you want, you'll only regret it otherwise.

Hey guys, after stalking for a week I've decided to register.

Hello and welcome to the forum .

Good to have you along.

The interest seems a bit higher at 5.9% than I was expecting, does this seems alright for a car on pcp?

That's because it is - it's not so long ago that many of Fiat's pcp deals were done at 0% APR. It'll add quite a bit to the overall cost of the agreement; remember you're paying interest on the full amount of the balloon payment for the duration.

I rushed into getting my last car after the lounge and don't want to make the same mistake.

That's sound thinking. If you don't like it, you may find it's more costly than you might expect to get out before the end of the pcp term. Be very sure you're going to be comfortable with this car for the whole duration of the agreement.

Personally I'm not a fan of pcp; it can be an expensive way to run a car. Both manufacturers and dealers are expert in manipulating the numbers to make these deals seem better than they really are. To get a better understanding, work out how much per mile it'll cost you if you keep the car for the duration of the agreement and drive the agreed mileage - take the total amount payable figure, deduct the balloon and divide by the miles.

I'd also be wary of any pcp agreement which extends beyond the warranty on the car, or you'll have an open-ended liability to repair someone else's asset at your own expense.

You should seriously consider GAP insurance, but buy online rather than from the dealer to save about 2/3rds of the cost.

Also have a read of this thread.

Thanks for your reply and advice ? I'll definitely look into getting my own gap insurance ?? Think I'll go back in to have another look at the car and another chat before making any decisions.
