I am such an idiot, I allowed the petrol station people to check my oil. The dipstick was showing a bit more than half full oil and they went and put 600 ml in, so I am assuming about 300 ml overfilled oil!

I should have done it myself!
Is 300 ml of oil overfilled ok?

So the car did 7,000 km's and used about 300 ml of oil. Good I guess for a 150,000 km engine?

What engine? Some are more sensitive to over filling
Personally I would get the level lowered. In the UK the filling station would be responsible for this. One time a dipstick tube vacuum extraction is OK.

Ahmett, don't do any extreme acceleration/braking/cornering until you've got the level down to the max mark on the dipstick - any of which could cause the oil to be flung over to one side/end of the sump. The 1.4 should be able to cope with a 300ml overfill in normal driving.

A franchised dealer once poured the entire contents of a 4l container into a friend's 1.2 whilst doing an oil change :bang:. Obviously I got them to take it back & sort it, but it was running without issues despite a 1300 ml overfill.

Most garages should be able to vacuum 300ml out via the dipstick hole. Undoing the sump plug might mean losing more than you'd intended.

Knowing my driving style that 300ml will be burnt off really soon! = )

That thought had crossed my mind. If you see clouds of smoke in the rear view mirror, ease off a little ;).
Will do! If I see any smoke whatsoever, I will immediately get it drained. If I remember, I overfilled it by 200 ml in the past with no symptoms whatsoever.

Is 300 ml of oil consumption over 7,000 kms ok?

Absolutely fine (particularly with your driving style ;)).

My driving style even got more aggressive because I rented a C220 Mercedes diesel last week in the UK which had bags of torque, so when i got back to my N/A 1.4 to keep the momentum I had to keep revs above 4,000 at all times, particularly on hills!
