Hi everyone I'm still trying to sort the wife's 500 twin air issue. Rough idle sounds like it's on 1.1/2 cylinders and a small misfire.

Fitted new plugs today checked all the Ecu and plugs looms out.

Does anyone know what make coil packs they should have?
It has 2 Bosch ones fitted and 1 looks newer than the other
Has anyone else had this issue. No warning light on.
Thanks in advance

What are the symptoms of them? Complete misfire or can they just have them run rough?

Right I've had it plugged in on a tool.
Oil temp plausible fault code?
Any ideas? I'm starting to worry now

I'm going to do oil and filter change tomorrow. And get a sensor. I've been looking for stuff and found a guide on the Alfa page.

It just said plausible? Wife got it done by a freind with a snap on scanner.

If that fails to fix the problem it will set on fire

Well it's still hunting

Worse when cold

Temp sensor checks out

Oil temp sensor checks out on resistance.

Cleared Ecu and will run like a sack of salt and won't put up the eml light

This may be a silly question but what are you comparing engine sound too?

It idles fine... then it runs lumpy and coughs and almost stalls

I've been told the sound like lawn mowers on start up?

I'm sure I have a coil pack breaking down. But checked resistance and both are the same..

The only thing you can compare it to is another twin air.

If it's not throwing a misfire code the misfire threshold must be very high .
Does it drive ok on open road under heavy load?
The more air and fuel there is in the cylinder the higher the voltage has to be at spark plug. Coil breakdown would be more obvious under these conditions.

Recommend getting a lead and trying MES it's very good.
What code reader are you currently using?

Drives ok but does cough.. but when you come to a stop it wants to stall?
gonna buy a coil pack tomorrow to try and rule it out.

Bee54 is the discount code , order online, click and collect if you want, collect at store of your choice if in stock. Or free delivery. That's if they do them.

Update time.
I bought 2 gen coil packs from eBay. And carried out another oil change.

Touch wood it has been ok for last 2 days.

Even fixed the broken tail gates wires causing boot not to open.
And cleaned out the blocked drain. Wife's happy but I think i can see myself changing the clutch soon as pedal is getting heavy ?

It's a nice pedal just heavy. Might give it a quick bleed but can get a clutch kit for £80 so might just do it.

All good fun

Only use a good brand clutch kit , the super cheap no name kits are dreadful .
