Hi Guys,

After a bit of information regarding speaker sizes in my 2008 (58) 500.

When changing speakers is there anything else required? I've had cars in the past that required mounting brackets/spacers.

Early cars had screws holding the speakers in later ones have rivets other than that not much, watch the +/- as I'm sure you're aware as its probably not indicated on the rear of the existing speakers(you may have to pull the radio out to check the wire colours re +/-) depending on your upgrade depends on what you'll need in terms of spacers etc. What are you putting in? JBL make some good bass heavy speakers and tend to have a higher sensitivity figure?

Thanks for the info John, any information on actual size of speakers? Looking at the focal range.

I can't find any info re size best to pull the door card just to double check have you replaced the radio before spending "that" much on speakers personal preference plays a big part.

Focal make great speakers, they're owned by naim now but John is right, you need to look at the head unit or at least add an amp to get the best out of high end speakers
