Technical 500 1.2 daytime running light issue

I recently had the fault message on my fiat 500 " DRL lamp not working"
so inspected the light clusters & found one of the lamps on each side not working - easy - removed lamp & got replacement. - Although still didnt work!
Started to look for the DRL fuse - but couldn't find its location in any of the manuals.

read many threads , and sounded like other people are having the same issue !

Eventually found that i was replacing the high beam lamp and not the DRL. And that the DRL & side light are actually the same lamp with two elements, which would explain why i could'nt find the DRL fuse - presume it must be off the" side light" fuse
( also when i was reading threads ,the lamps were spoken about as separate lamps)

Think the reason for my confusion was because i was expecting the head lamp & side lamp to be in the same light cluster and the fact i could see the (DRL/side light ) working - or at least the side light element.Made me believe it was the other lamp ( which is the high beam)

Feel darf at such a simple confusion , but think others are having the same confusion.

Hi All, Found this thread as I have the same problem with DRL not working. Changed the bulb and only the side light works. Tested all three cables and power is getting to the back of the bulb connector; 1. Balck=earth, grey=drl and brown = side light; all working as they should.
But only the side light element is working when I put the bulb in. Could be corrosion as there was no rubber cap on when I took the square trap door off.
Now I've snapped the bloomin side light cable off the back of the connector with all my fiddling about.
So,
1. Any advice on soldering the cable back on?
2. I've tried two different new bulbs and the DRL still doesn't work.
Please help as I have no more skin left on my knuckles!!

Hi :)

It is a weird issue..

A member recently worked their way through it :)

It involved a reset of the drivers for the lamps

I will try to add a link :
