Hi all. I'm hoping someone can help. My girlfriends 08 500 1.2 intermittently blowing a fuse which cuts everything out including the engine. No dash lights or warning lights come on.. the whole thing dies. Its the orange fuse (40amp) at the bottom of the fusebox. (Can't attach an image as this is my first post.)
Does anyone know what this is for? Fiat themselves couldn't even tell me when I went there today.

Looking at the various circuit pictures in the Haynes manual, I too cannot see what its connected to, will have to wait until a expert chips in?
Does everything fail? wipers lights heater fan etc?

The first thing to find out is what that fuse supplies mind you it takes quite some load to blow 40a though hatch wiring fault springs to mind, ANY issues with the boot lid?

Hi John... Its fuse F03. As I said Fiat couldn't tell me what is is for let alone the owners manual. But after some internet searching this fuse covers the ignition switch. So,getting somewhere.

Sorry fuse 03 is 4th up from the bottom(are there any empty slots you're not counting?), is this the one that fails? 03 supplies all sorts 01 and 03 provide power to "most" car systems in some way, have you checked the hatch wiring ?

Its worth checking that all the fuses are the correct size and someone has not put the wrong size in? as I would expect the individual circuit fuse to fail rather than a "main" fuse to go?

Here's the fuse box pic and listing, fuse 03 goes through the ignition switch and provides almost all car systems is there anything not working properly?
