I am an italian car lover, we have an 2011 Alfa Giulietta,2012 Chrysler Ypsilon, Fiat 500c and a 2006 Fiat Punto 1.2 Active. We have just bought a side damaged Fiat 500c, I would like to know how to replace the activated seat airbag?
I have worked out how to replace the curtain airbag.
Also does the 500 Seat Belt assembly the same as a 500c?

Hello, replacing the seat airbag is easy. The difficult part is stitching the seat back up. Depending on what seats you have, it's sometimes better to just replace the whole seat.

I do have a drivers seat airbag if you want it. £25 delivered!

You just have to Disconnect an earth wire and the airbag connection wire. The bag is then held in with just two 10mm nuts.

Hi, thanks for getting back to me. I have the airbag ready to go in, I was just wondering how easy is it to take out the old one and replace with new. Do I take the seat cover off?
Restitch the seat will be easy as it's the thread that has come undone rather tahn splitting the seat material.

See my message above it's easy. You don't need to take the seat cover off. You just push the foam behind the airbag, the other side of the metal seat frame it's attached to and you will see the two ten mm nuts. You can't get a socket on them, you will need a spanner. Remove the airbag cable by squeezing the little tabs in on the side and the connector will pull out. Ten minute job.

Hi, Update on the Seat Airbag and Curtain Airbag
I took off the seat cover carefully, it took about 15 minutes, I found there were 2 metal strips holding the cover on to the seat frame, I just pushed them back and up and slowly folded the seat cover onto it self, untit I got to the top of the metal strip, unhooked it. I found there where 3 metal hoops that had to be prised apart slightly to seperate the seat cover from the metal bar on the seat frame. I removed the headrest and then simply pulled the cover away from the heatrest plactic holder and the seat lever. Disconnected the battery for 2 hours. Replaced the seat airbag easily as above instructions.
I had the seat cover out so restitched the seat where the airbag had deployed, it took about an hour using cotton thread (got advice from car upholstorer due to airbag).
Refit is reversal of above apart from replcing 3 metal hoops with cable ties as its very tight for space.
Curtain airbag easy, there are videos on utube.
Bought the Fiat 500c Curtain airbag cover trim from Fiat Dealer for £64 as there were none around used.
Just seat belt to sort out and airbags reset!
This 500 is so easy to work on!

One of those curtain airbag videos is mine. I can't remember if I did one for seatbelts. I'll have to check as I have some more to do so will film it.
