Yep.
+1 :)

I have a thread on here somewhere about it. (y)

Get in, turn the key all the way to start, and once in a while there is silence. Not every time, and not even once in a while, but once in a blue moon there's silence and nothing. Maybe 1% of starting? Perhaps 1 in 100 times, but don't quote me on the figures.

If I insert the key, turn to ignition on, and wait a pause of two marching paces, then start, it works 100% of the time.

Regards,
Mick.

Stumbled upon it by chance. When I turn the key immediately to start the motor, the setting is not retained. However, when I first turn the key to the accessory position and wait a few seconds, the last AC setting is retained after starting the motor.

When you say setting do you mean temp, fan speed, vents or all 3?
Mine definitely remembers all settings other then fan speed as this is related to whether the car is warmed up or not and interior temp but temp setting and vent position is maintained for sure. I sort of recall a software update re this from ages ago but could be mistaken

Fan speed. The other settings are retained regardless. In my case: Auto, recirculation and compressor are off, vent is set to the lower position. Temperature is at 20°C, but I suspect this is irrelevant as long as it is much hotter outside. Of course I drive with both windows down.

Ok, my fan speed always behaves automatically regardless of whether it's in auto or not, presumed this is normal and works fine for me, haven't tried the key thing

After pressing one time on the fan speed up or down button, it will no longer behave automatically.

I tried this, the fan setting is already lost when you turn the key to ACC/MAR, at least on my car.

Sorry, missing the point here.
Am I missing something?

If I have a temp set and the system is in Auto, that's the way it remains.
No matter what temp I set, that is the temp that is there no matter how many times switch off or how I start the car.

Whatever temp I set, the fan and the vents set themselves to get the interior to the temp I have set. If I alter it whilst driving, that is the new setting and it stays there, even if I switch off. Whatever it was, that is what comes up next time.

It works 100% of the time faultlessly and I love it.

Mick

If I stop the engine of my 500 with a manually set fan speed, then the setting seems to be lost when I turn the key to MAR, but it appears to be remembered when I start the engine. However, once in a while the car has problems remembering...

If you alter the fan speed, it takes it out of Auto and puts it into Manual,
TBH, I've never tried it to see if the fan speed is remembered in Manual.

Why should it remember it?
It's not a knob/potentiometer like in a non-ACC car.

I'll try next time I'm in the car. It should be easy to experiment.

Cheers,
Mick.

It seems any adjustment made out of auto mode will be memorised on restart. So typically on mine I press auto to reset if required, then turn off compressor, select vent to screen and I DONT touch fan speed or temp then it remembers all that on restart and fan speed and temp behave automatically. Last night I tested it by cranking up fan speed before I switched off and it was still up this morning on restart, by going through the auto reset sequence above all is reset to my preference

Tested it this afternoon.

I can confirm that if you manually alter the fan speed when in Auto, it takes it out of Auto.

I can also confirm that if you alter the fan speed, then stop and switch off, when you start up again, the fan speed goes back to what you set it to previously.

Switching back to Auto, sets the fan speed automatically of course.

Mick.
