Technical Stop start battery question

Well today all was well again today. Temperamental system

In the limiting case, a 1C change in the outside air temperature can affect the battery voltage enough to make the difference between S/S working perfectly, or outright refusing to work at all.

Unlike their earlier analog equivalents, it may only take a difference of a thousandth of a volt to drastically change the behaviour of a digital system.

On those occasions when it doesn't stop the car, it may, quite literally, be a case of 'computer says NO'.

Or as you so eloquently and concisely put it, "it's a temperamental system".

Thanks for the replies. I will monitor over the next week or so and also bring it to the dealers attention now (just in case!).

All is currently well. As per the good advice by the forum, the dealer has been advised and has been more than fair. They have said to keep an eye on it and if it happens again they will get it into the workshop and fully check it out.

Interestingly, they also confirmed that they have seen a few come back which they needed to replace the batteries on which were only a couple of months old.

Rather than start a new thread for stop start batteries

Now winter is coming some may be after a new battery soon.

Found Exide EL600 £80.82 inc VAT and delivery
with General Traffic Ebay shop

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/EL600-Exi...60Ah-640CCA-/262181821684?hash=item3d0b411cf4

General Traffic have branches in the North West (plus some others)

Rang my local branch and got quoted approx £125, mentioned their Ebay price, he put me through to the Ebay sales and have arranged to collect and pay at my local branch - this was more convenient than having it delivered.

Hope this helps - get a cheap battery
