Morning folks, I thought I would share my new journey through the repair of my latest car.
For those of you who followed by blood sweat and tears of the 500 Sport that I completed recently, this is the new one I've just bought.
It's a 62 plate 1.2 Lounge with 12,000 miles. Only damage is a bent nearside wing and a damaged nearside door. It had a busted DRL too which Ive already replaced.
Took the bumper off yestereday, cleaned up the scuff marks on it with rubbing compound and it's as good as new now. Installed a new DRL and loosely put it back on the car.
I started undoing the bolts on the wing and have come across what I've never noticed before on the top of the wing under the bonnet, it's like a rectangle clip. I haven't taken a picture of it yet, but I will do, as I can't actually work out how it comes off.
I've attached the first couple of photos of the damage plus the new donor door I picked up yesterday. I'm looking for a wing at the moment, but have seen on eBay I can get one painted to the correct colour for £111 with free delivery, so may well go for that option.
So, apart from dirty seats and some bird poo and mud on the bodywork, the car is very clean. I'm going to do a video/photo diary of the removal and refitting of the wing and door as I cannot find a guide anywhere for either, so hopefully, my experience doing it will help others.
More to follow, when I get days off of work to do it.
