Hi their have had my 500 from new 2008... and withing the last 1-2 yrs it struggles to start when cold regardless if summer or not... so i have to turn key to off then try again maybe 3-4x times before it'll start? Apart from plugs, fuel and fuel filter anything else that could cause this? Has this happened to anyone on here? Only has 60,000ikm.

Thanks Julian

I'm new here, how long do you crank it before you give up and try again? try cranking for at least 5-8 seconds(and don't put your foot on the accelerator) not just a couple of turns, when was the battery last replaced? I would suspect a sensor fault is causing an issue like say faulty temp sensor(if it otherwise drives fine), do you have a code reader to see if there's any stored codes that don't turn on the eml? Years ago, a car I had stated "may require 30 seconds of cranking to start(hot), this is normal"

If it is still on its original battery it will be getting weak now, struggling to provide enough power for the starter and the ignition.
How old is the battery?
Do the dash lights dim, or the clock reset during starting?
Can you put a voltmeter across the battery during starting and record the following:
1. Voltage before anything turned on.
2. Voltage with ignition on.
3. Voltage during starter operation.
