I have a 2014 Fiat 500 - I have an issue with my Windscreen Jets. When I clean my front window it only sprays water onto the window and when I clean my back window it only sprays soap onto the window - neither window sprays a mixture of both water and soap.

Has anyone else had this issue and if you have please can you advise how to fix it? I'm quite handy with cars but this baffles me!

Thanks in advance - EmmaElizabeth

I have something similar happening to me although the front washers still have a bit of soap. Which fluid do you use?

I put too much normal liquid soap into my mixture so thats probably the reason why mine is more clear in the front than the rear. For now i am adding only water to get rid of the excess soap in the system. In a few weeks i will probably switch to the winter washing fluid with alcohol = )

Hi
Not sure if its a temperature thing - its been doing it since the summer. I think ill wait until it's empty then just flush it through with water. Maybe its the soap the previous owner used - I just find it odd how its either one or the other on each window and not a mixture of both water & soap.

This has never happened before on any car I've owned

As i said its the same thing happening with me and it only happened when i put soap in it. If i were you I would only put water in it a few times to wash the system. see if that works

I have experienced this before on our old 12 plate Panda (so essentially the same parts as the 500).

However, it always used to sort itself out in the end so I have no idea really what caused it:eek:

Maybe try popping some warmish water into the screenwash reservoir and then just gradually releasing it all (so as not to put too much strain on the washer motor in one go). The warmer water might help to release any gunk that is trapped?

Other than that, not sure what screenwash you use, but I have always found Comma products to be very good. If you are able to get hold of Comma Xstream, that stuff is super concentrated and will apparently be good up to -65 degrees:

No idea on how much it costs nowadays though!

good idea about the hot water will do it. for now just putting pure water into the reservoir until the mix stops being so soapy = ) after that will put the anti freeze fluid mixed with water which is very thin anyway.
