Any canbus wizards on?
I am wiring up a reversing camera fitted to a number plate surround, as I have a wireless adaptor for it I do not need to take the video cable through the car plus my stereo can pick up the reverse signal from the canbus so does not need to be connected to the reverse lights. This should mean that I can simply power the camera and sender from a 12v supply in the boot and the easiest one I can see is the one feeding the boot handle/ number plate lights.
My question is twofold, will this be constantly live and drain my battery, and will this cause problems with bulb failure warnings?

Hmmm, thought it might be constant live as the tailgate switch works when the ignition is off and the boot open....

Forgot about the boot handle switch, thought you meant the number plate lights.

The plug in the pic supplies both...

Looks like I may have to get switched power through the tailgate harness then....
