General Adding Electric Sunroof

General Adding Electric Sunroof

Each to his own Mick.
On Gozo we have aircon without sunroof, because it ain't 'arf 'ot.
Most very hot countries have very few sunroofs or convertibles, because direct overhead sun is just too much, but in the UK where sunshine is scarce and (comparatively) weak, such versions are more common.
Being a sun freak, I love both convertibles and any kind of opening roof, and drive throughout the year topless whenever possible (!).
Maybe the OP is the same.

Headroom, especially for the passenger (whose seat does not have height adjustment) is still the only problem I have with our 500 - it is a Lounge model and yet someone decided to tick the box for the electric sunroof option. The headlining around the electric sunroof frame is simply too obtrusive - I think there might now be more headroom in the back than in the front :)

I'm very decedent, drive with my sunroof slid back, the windows open and the a/c blowing on my feet on hot days! I do prefer my cars to have a sunroof, even when it's not open it brightens the interior up. :)

The OP has a fixed glass roof (standard on Lounge models) which already serves that function :) I think the topic of this discussion is how to change it for the opening type, and I think most of us agree that the fixed type of glass roof is preferable to the opening type.

Absolutely, especially if you like adding 5-10% (and occasionally much more) to your fuel bill just for some ideology. Biggest A/C hit I ever saw was going from 13l/100km in a Mercedes to 18l/100km with the A/C on. UFI won't do 100mpg with the A/C on either. My current daily, a 1.6 petrol goes from 6 to 7l/100km (tank average) even with my judicious use of the A/C.

I guess it really does take all sorts :D
13l/100 km!? what was it an AMG V8 ?
Actually my father's V6 4.0 Jeep Grand Cherokee does 15l/100 km = )

Just to clear up why I particularly want an opening sunroof... can't have the climate control running to cool down the dog when I leave her for a few mins. And I can't have a 500C cos I like having boot space. My other car is an 11 year old Jeep but hey, whatever floats your boat. My elderly mother will ONLY drive Renaults but nothing smaller than a Megane.

Hi all l live in Melbourne Victoria Australia and l have a 2015 fiat 500 pop and l want to get a sunroof fitted but l cant find a seller of theses sunroofs anywhere.
Does anyone know of a seller in Victoria who can supply and fit it for me.
Any help would be good.
